So glad I found this video. Went through the exact same situation as this guy. Went on a couple dates with this chick, and finally shot my shot by playfully telling her that she owes me a kiss when I see her. As an older gentleman it becomes increasingly clear that the most important measure is time, not money. I get that money can be a product of time (working, etc.), but that’s not the ultimate waste - it’s your time. In my experience being friends never works out well. You can ask out a girl you're friends with but you must be honest. I mean she was honest with you, so why not do her the same respect by saying "Well I was interested in dating, not just friendship so if you change your mind then get back to me" Even if you're not interested in dating, being friends and hanging out on weekends etc still doesn't work well. Because people will see you and assume you are together and so it just holds you both back from finding your real partner I think. Always best to stick to the book. Really the book is just about living your authentic truth in all areas of life and agreeing to be friends when you know you want more, it's not your truth and that's just going to cause suffering.

I'll start off by saying that I think this guy is a total beta by trying to actively pursue a woman that said up front she wasn't interested. That being said, the advice proffered here...I do not totally agree with it. I think there needs to be less emphasis on how to get a disinterested woman potentially attracted to you via showing disinterest yourself, and more emphasis on screening out these types of women *permanently*. Putting it out there that you're interested in hearing back from women if they change their mind on their first-impression of you as being good only as a "friend" is just all sorts of wrong IMO. Just write-off these kinds of women that appear to get off on being ignored, rather than your affectionate and forthcoming true self. Don't try and attract them with passive-aggressive tactics like saying "let me know if you change your mind". Not only is that sort of strange and creepy, but it keeps the door open for these Cluster B type people to potentially work their way into your life like that. Dollars to donuts, she will become disinterested and ultimately break your heart in pretty short order after finally getting your attention. Just do yourself a favor and only pursue women that seem to have a healthy and genuine interest in your from the beginning.
