can you please explain the maths behind the statement " when value betting i need only more than 50% pot equity"

If I bet $1 and you call $1 there’s $2 more in the pot than there was before. If I win more than 50% of the time I’m winning more than my $1 back. If less I’m getting less than my $1 back. Thus in order to bet for value we must win at least half the time we are called. Otherwise we are better off checking because we are losing sone money when called.

Bro showdown every single hand at my local MTTS. that bluffing is pointless just a tone of skilled and practiced calling stations so annoying because it counters the LAG style imagine a skilled calling stations sounds so stupid but it’s actually so strong early stages mid stages calling stations dominate with huge stacks from lags but late stages the calling stations gets destroyed makes the MTTS so difficult to win
