Great tips, thanks Millie! I have sometimes found Christmas Beetle pupae in my pots that have degraded the root system and base of some plants. I replace the soil and relocate the pupae to a big pot away from everything else. I call it my scarab hotel 🪲

I have exactly that same pot at home..... useless thing, it is. Always getting the drain hole blocked and drowning plants in it. Then the potting mix gets all hydrophobic and dries any plants out that way. I now have it upended and half buried behind a shady tree in the garden for the little frogs to hide in.
