I have a mixture of 3c4a textures and I recently starting back getting serious about stretching my hair again and I have noticed less tangling and matting in my hair and I have seen a healthy natural sheen to my hair and I know it's because the sebum is able to travel down the length of my hair. This video was so informative and right on time.

I've been stretching my hair for two years. Its so much easier. I use the banding method and sometimes chunky braids. The only issue I have with stretching is figuring out how to moisturize it/keeping it moisturized without causing reversion...

I stretch with heat and heat protectant by blowdrying my microfiber towel dried hair on medium heat. I place my hair in twists and wear those in a loose bun or ponytail. It stays detangled and moisturized for a week, then I pre poo, wash, deep condition and repeat again.

What type of material to ask for at Hobby Lobby to make your own hair bands? And thank you, I am enjoying your sharing of knowledge. GlamFam recommended you in a video which is how I came upon your site--so glad I did! You keep it short and sweet and answer a lot of questions I have had without a long drawn out video. You should definitely have more subscribers. I'm going to spread the word too 😄.

@jennyk.2731

Hi, I was just wondering something. When I had relaxed hair, so when my hair was straight, following your logic, the sebum that Comes from my scalp should have went all the way down my hair strands. I think that is the reason why White people with straight hair often have greasy hair but retain lenght easily because of their hair being always moisturized. When I was relaxed, I didn't had greasy hair and my hair didn't felt moisturized because of my sébum, also a lot of women once they relax their hair, they have to take care of their almost the same as if they were taking care of curly hair, or their relaxed hair will break. I was just wondering why having our hair straight wouldn't result in us retaining lenght as easily as a white person if our sebum is supposed to have non problem going from the root to the end of our hair. I also have another question : right now my hair natural and un mini twists, so technically my hair is stretched, does what you said also works the same for my twisted hair?
@Neesha242
@Neesha242 Жыл бұрын
I think mix people have medium porosity because their hair can easily maintain moisture, but it can also lose moisture and become frizzy. Some mix people genetically have both hair porosity’s because they are mixed

Hey Shermaine! I’ve noticed that my hair gets a lot drier when I stretch it. I don’t use heat to stretch it or anything, and I try to moisturize it well before hand, but it gets paaaaaarched honey. I keep moisturizing it while it’s stretched but it just gets back dry when I stretch it again. Please advise.

This only happens to me if I stretch without heat which is why I do not do the heatless stretching techniques. Try blow drying on low heat with a really good moisturizer. See if that helps

Samantha-M. Hey! How does your hair respond to that particular moisturizer when it’s not stretch? If it’s still dry without stretching you may need to switch up your moisturizer, but if not then try the other persons comment before mine to see if that helps! ☺️

Sebum also causes acne. Not that amazing. But seems relatively good for your hair
@GetGlamFam
@GetGlamFam 5 жыл бұрын
Kimberly Eli it’s good for hair and skin. Sebum leads to acne moreso with overproduction, mixed with bacteria. Believe it or not, the mixture of oil and sweat creates an acid mantle which maintains the body’s ph, and helps fight viruses, etc. (Plus sebum helps keep the skin supple and soft.)
