That's a lot of good, clean fun...in and around one of the three oldest ball parks in MLB, the legendary Wrigley Field. I live in Ventura CA, about 60 miles north of LA along the coast, so I'm a Dodgers fan and my home is the third oldest park in the league, Dodger Stadium....sounds a bit strange to say that, but it is what it is. Did you know that in the early 1900s, The Cubs' spring training was held out here on Catalina Island, off the coast of Southern California?......and the original Wrigley Field was in LA...what we now know as Wrigley Field was branded with the "Cubs" name at that time. The first Wrigley was where the Los Angeles Angels played in the old Pacific Coast League, before they went to the big leagues. Other teams in the PCL were The Hollywood Stars, who played at Gilmore Field in an area just south of Hollywood, but played a little farther south in the nicer Wrigley when the Angels were on the road.......and the San Francisco Seals, who played at Seal Stadium on the lower East side of SF.........and when the Dodgers and Giants moved out West in 1958, the Giants played at Seal Stadium while Candlestick Park was being built. In LA, the Dodgers played at the LA Memorial Coliseum intill Dodger Stadium was completed in 1962.
