Love that generation of 7 series, and the Alpina B7 in particular. It may be my favorite limousine of all time, design-wise, closely followed by the 3rd gen Audi S8 and the W223 Mercedes, although that one might not age so well. But a green or blue B7 with gold or silver paint stripes is really hard to beat.

Buying one of those is only for people who can afford one new in the first place. All that tech equals thousands and thousands on servicing a bmw like that with over 100k miles! Only a matter of time. Get a Lexus.
@twoguysonecoupe1050 Жыл бұрын
This drives better than a Lexus though. I would estimate $10-25k in maintenance in the next 100,000 miles though
@mickeynissan98879 ай бұрын
Servicing a 2018 Alpina B7 is about as costly as servicing a 2018 7 series, unless you broke something "Alpina specific", like a Mhale piston or a turbocharger (never heard of anyone breaking something like that). I can say this with confidence because I own a 2018 B7, I just did a 60K service on it - which is a "big" one with spark plugs and a bunch of items - and it cost me around 1k USD, which isn't nothing but also isn't unreasonable for a "big" service. You're supposed to do one of these every 30K, which is every two years for most people. It's not cheap, but it's not gonna bridge the gap from the 55K these go for to 175K they were brand new - you're not going to see 120,000$ in repair fees on these, not in a year, not in two and not in ten. Now, these came at around 175K MSRP. They have every bit of tech modern Lexus does minus Android auto, they also drive better, look better, sound better. The comparable Lexus would be an LS500, although it's no where near as fast, fun to drive, pretty or rare (for better or worse) - and a new one well spaced is over 90K. An old one won't have anywhere near the amenities.

Dad had a 2007 Alpina B7, I had the pleasure of driving it 8hrs cross country, absolutely drips luxury and insane technology even for the earlier year. His upkeep costs weren’t terrible either, I think aside from oil changes and tires, he changed a coolant sensor o ring that had gone bad and the hood insulation pad which was $350, had gotten cut up a bit. He wishes he still had it, but if you can fix cars, BMWs are like legos, as near painless as could be.
