You forgot to mention: - There come also in a hard-top and soft-top cabrio. - The pre-face variants came with 323 (2.5L 170hp) and 328 (2.8L 193hp) as well. They came with the M52TU engines, which are a bit more reliable than the M54 I agree with everything else. I have a 328Ci which I stroked to 3.0L with M54 parts (530,000km)... I know Honda boys like to brag how their cars are like legos, but BMW isnt far behind the "lego" build as well. Something I would like to add. Get an E46 with the ZF transmission, the Getrags are made out of cheese. Especially if you intend to drive aggressively. In the last 200k km, I gave about 200-250 Euro for repairs, and about 600 Euro for preventative maintenance. (of which the most expensive part was a radiator for 160 Euro). Not bad for a half a million km BMW which was neglected. One last thing. If you are working on your BMW yourself and you have some codes about different sensors (crankshaft position, camshaft position or MAF sensor, ABS sensor) and you intend to change them... Always get original BMW sensors, they are more expensive, but at least they work, if you can't afford to buy them new, get an original one from a junkyard, but don't buy a cheap one, they dont work.

One thing for people to remember when buying these cars, DO NOT SPEND STUPID MONEY ON A CAR FOR IT BEING SOLD AS A 'COLLECTIBLE'. A number of things make a car collectible and truly hold value into the future but the main things being: Mileage ( Lower mileage, less road use etc), spec (e.g. for a 46M3, slicktop, 6Speed, Indiv) and Condition 46(are prone to rust). If your buying a car to make money thats all well and good but do not spend stupid money on one just because someone tells you its rare. People are prone to overprice old BMWs nowadays, do not fall for it just because its a 1/1 resprayed 46 318 with a m54b30 swap or because its a 318 in an Individual colour but they want 5000. Point of this rant: don't let yourself get scammed for a German shitbox

A pre facelift 318ci/i 4 cylinder is a great engine, mine is at 356k and still going strong, of course it burns a bit of oil but nothing much...

I've owned a 320ci for 9 years.... cannot praise the car enough. Super reliable, enough power, good mpg. 67,000 miles. 2005 was a good year.😊😊😊

Had a 2001 330 vert between 2010 and 2016. It was, at that point the newest and most "premium" car I'd owned. Sold that and got an F25 30D sport and it was lightyears ahead. Few years later (2020) i bought an e46 M3 as that's what I wanted. Kept it until May this year and.....I just never bonded with it. Having the F25 made it feel so old. I did under 5k miles in 4 years, I just couldn't be bothered to get it out, warm it up, deal with the awful manual. Ended up selling it and getting an F83. My advice is avoid if you're used to more modern vehicles. If you're used to pre 00s cars or much power quality cars, an E46 is probably a step up. But compared to most 2010s one they're ancient.

Got an 01 320ci. Can't seem to kill the thing to force myself to upgrade to newer and cheaper. Love the thing just treated her to full set of coilovers an soon an oil change for getting me through hard times. Look after any car and it'll live a fine life. A manual 46? I've had panels come off and front end collisions in her and she's got me home. Keep spare rad pipes in the boot and you're golden

I've had 2 of them now at 18, the 325ci i just bought was heavy neglected with 170k miles and had not ran in 2 years, put a battery in it and it started right up. runs good now after just basic maintenance. The m54 is a solid engine, its just the stuff around it that brakes, coils, sensors, old vac lins... That give it a bad rep
@zach__everton3 ай бұрын
Exactly that! A long as you treat them well they will live a good life for sure

Great video! Which isn’t just about the M3, they are great daily drivers all around for every purpose. I’m the happy owner of a 2000 330ci coupe. Bought it in 2020 and had fun doing maintenance and learning working on it❤

Quick tip to keep viewers maybe skip the pointless content of you making a coffee, I don’t mean to be rude or anything but I found myself about to click away, so just. Heads up ! Keep up the videos

Appreciate the feedback! I've had to opposite from others saying they enjoy the personal touch to be fair! I guess its just down to each viewers preference of video style. Potentially i just need to make them abit shorter so it can be a happy median :)
