Brixton.. A brand that is not so well known in Britain is producing some great retro 125cc bikes. They are popular in Germany. I just bought one, and it rides and sounds like a bigger bike... No small bike complex here.. :)

TBH, this is really sound advice. Anyone can do their CBT and get on a £2k 125 in half a week. Mad fuel mileage and great for the majority of journeys! Makes a lot of sense in the current state of things.

Welcome to being cheap 😆 I just sold a 2014 genuine Stella (lml star I think) last month and moved up to a giant 411cc Himalayan. I'd ridden the Stella for the last 3 years around my city, but I was afraid to take it any distance outside of town. I will miss having a spare tire though.

I have been riding bikes for more than ten years. I have a BMW S1000R, an Aprilia Tuono V4RR and a range of track bikes. and this year i bought a 1990 suzuki GSXR 250. and its great fun, reving it out to 17000 rpm without going too fast. its totally a grinfest :-D and it does 25-30 Km/L and top speed of 180 Km/h

Question, guess you've seen lots of different monkey back racks. Could you say which one you went with please? Guess my hope is to have somewhere to sometimes mount a detatchable back box to store a helmet. Looks like you have such? Lack of storage on the monkey is the only issue.

You really should upgrade to a vespa GTS300. Lots more storage, especially with the rear trunk. And an 80 mph bike at almost 80 mpg. I love Vespa and Moto Guzzi (Italian bikes in general) but I just ordered a Monkey.

In Aust. ,except for some places in the the N.T 130 kph, all you can do is a maximum of 110 kph so a 250 , In fact some of the Japanese 125/150 are quite fast enough, so why would you need anything else. Yeah for postie bikes for adventure riding .

The problem, at least in any metro area in the US, is that you would have to chain the damn thing to a building everywhere you went to keep it from being stolen.
@kittywampus2 жыл бұрын
I carried a NY noose for mine. I used to chain it to the gas line outside my apartment with a disc lock with an alarm. It survived and I'm in an auto theft hot spot. You just have to make it a harder target than the next bike.

I'm not sure the economic case for buying one of these 125cc bikes makes sense unless you have a very uneconomical larger bike and/or plan to replace it with a smaller bike. You quote 50mpg (which seems low for a small bike), my 600cc Hornet did 45mpg (when I use to check it, better if you take it easy), so with the £1.5-3k cost of the 125 how long will it take until you have saved the cost of the 125 and insurance/servicing costs? If I was looking to save money on fuel I would probably be looking at something like a second hand PCX.

Looking at 125cc bikes takes me back to when I were 17 back in the 80's, I've not stopped riding since then, had all sorts, from the fastest sports bikes to huge touring bikes. Motorcycling is in my blood, not interested in EV's and this Great Reset plan that's being pushed on us citizens of the world,..I hope that the masses wake up, we must not go down that path.

Small wheels aren’t dangerous that’s nonsense
@Haawser2 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say it's the 12" wheels that are dangerous, more the massive potholes that local councils can't seem to be bothered to fix because they only have enough budget for more speed cameras and traffic calming schemes....
@isaachunt57992 жыл бұрын
@@Haawser so if small wheel were good why superbikes dont have them? why dont motorcross bikes have them? as a bike rider for 41 years i tell u know those little wheels are a death trap. do they still make the honda cg125? thats a better bike. or my sons aprilia sx125.
@Haawser2 жыл бұрын
@@isaachunt5799 Well, the main reason superbikes use bigger, wider tyres is to spread the forces over a larger amount of rubber. So you don't go through them every 1000 miles (though I have friends who try tbh). Which is not so much of a problem when you only have 12-15bhp and a bike that weighs
