The HydroBot Hybrid Security System or HydroBot Hybrid Security Unit: A giant semi-hovering LEGO Mindstorms Robot capable of guarding bedrooms and completing household chores. I am actually planning on building this right now, and I am currently in the process of saving up enough money to purchase some EV3 bricks before they all go extinct, so this is really bad news for me.

i bought one a long time before it was going to be discontinued, i still have it, not a single scratch, works perfectly, tho i did have to remove the battery acid as an idiot left batteries in it. it works fine and i still have the software on my modern 64 bit laptop, happy that i can still use it.

I recently bought an EV3 main home edition set sealed for $325. I thought I may need an extra EV3 for daisy chaining more motors in the future and prices would've probably skyrocketed if I waited any longer

I found an EV3 intelligent brick for a cheap price. In my country the education set is always higher than 450 bucks. The brick is in discount being sold for 90 bucks. Should I buy it? I have enough technic pieces and can buy motors for cheap.

I definitely recommend trying to find out more about that EV3 brick first. Do you know why it's being sold for so cheap? Try to verify that it's not broken or damaged in any other way.

Just purchased one brand new from an Australian Education shop for $600 AUD. Also, two weeks ago I purchased a second hand (sealed) expansion set for $1180AUD. The latest Robot Inventor set is on last sale at the Lego shop for $440 AUD. Just some numbers for the day.

Why did Lego do this to its self, why did they downgrade the EV3 with the Robot inventor. You would have thought companies like Lego hire very intelligent people, but it seems they hire stupid people with expensive degrees.

Try to find similar listings and see what they are selling for. You can also check www.brickeconomy.com/. At the end of the day, the only real way to find out what it's worth is to try to sell it. It is often said that the value of something is what someone will be willing to pay for it.

Depends on how much "scheming" you want to do. If you want to play the capitalist role, waiting until July after the EV3 is completely discontinued will probably net you the most for your sale. Note: I am not encouraging price gouging, but demand and supply for that product should always be considered when you sell. But no matter when you sell it, there will always be someone happy to buy it from you.

Just today I bought the educator set and the expansion set. I already had the normal set but have a project that will require two bricks. All this before I even watched your video. Panic buying of legos? Who would have thought.

Easier said than done... schools need to get their budgets approved on an annual basis, and usually it includes specific line items (ex: the EV3). Many educators need to get approved to buy the newer LEGO 51515 from their administrations, which is sometimes a hassle. Switching over to LEGO 51515 is not so easy for schools (especially on such short notice).
