Great video as always. I've always thought of getting some type of getting some type of monster hunter game but never actually picked it up. Although I'll definitely play the demo for stories 2 and might pick it up if I really enjoy it.

Haha you'd think it would be as simple as that, but the algorithm can be very strange! I put together a video about Pokemon Legends Arceus just after it was announced, people seem to like the video well enough, but KZbin just doesn't want to show it to anyone! It's always a bit of a gamble, hahaha

I have zero idea how it works tbh. Perhaps the fact that there are a ton of pokemon youtubers causes your video to be less visible? For the fanbase that monster hunter has, i personally feel there really isn't that many big channels about it. Compared to other popular franchises that is.

Monster Hunter 3 made me curious in the series but something about it just didn’t click. Monster Hunter Stories was awesome, but I had to sell my 3ds and didn’t get to finish it. Monster Hunter World was awesome but didn’t get past Diablos, so I put it down. Monster Hunter Rise made me a fan of the series. I forced myself to get good at it, and I’m glad as I did, because there’s nothing else like it, and the community as a whole is one of the best I’ve seen. However, I’ve always been a JRPG fan, and Stories 2 is scratching every itch I’ve had for a JRPG for a long time. Great gameplay, quality animations, an intriguing story, and the exploration is on par with the Zelda franchise. It’s sad this is more Pokemon than Pokemon itself. Way to go Capcom, you’re on 🔥

Oooh, you know what I haven't really had a chance to get into it! I remember playing a demo a while back on the 3ds I think, and found it a little bit TOO simple, but maybe that's just how demos are sometimes. I definitely like a lot of the monster designs (love that mascot cat), but I've not been interested enough to pay full price for a game. Maybe I'll see if I can pick up one of the early games on the cheap though! Great recommendation!

@@Whitepawprint yeah the demo for both 1 and 2 waren’t a good impression from what I hear still cool games tho (just as underrated as Stories imo) 3 is probably more advanced compared to ykw 1 and 2 you have a 3x3 board you can move the yokai on to get health, fill up the gauge for soultimates, increase attacks, a yokai can even a shield if you place a yokai in front of the yokai you don’t want damaged it even affects the soultimates too some soultimates can only used on certain amount of spaces they also implemented this cool blaster that can either do damage on an enemy yokai or adds a boost at befriending yokai sadly with it being a late 3ds game it’s hard to find physically and expensive thanks to scalpers but if you ever find it cheap I’d highly recommend 3 and it being the longest out of all 4 main line yo-kai watch games (and the blaster games) plus ton of post game content

Oh my goodness yessss. I never actually got to play the original games, I didn't have a PlayStation growing up and these days the disks are CRAZY expensive haha. I know they've done versions on the ds and stuff I think but I do just love the scanning disc concept

Why should I consider Monster Hunter Stories when I've already finished the first game and preordered the 2nd game? (initially on pc, but friend got it on switch so I followed him as well. Now I own the game twice) :) Jokes aside though. I love the idea of fighting WITH my monstie, rather than like a typical rpg where you just manage all your members or like pokemon where you just get your pokemon to spam moves to win. MHST you just control yourself and your monstie just does its own thing if you aren't riding it or commanding it to do a certain attack.

Hahaha love that! And yes I agree, it's so much fun! I think there's something really good about the element of randomness that really keeps the game interesting. I remember watching a video recently on why turn based rpgs can feel really unfair sometimes, and that you need randomness to keep it interesting, but most rpgs just have critical hits or status effects that can be really irritating. I think not being able to control your team members and having to work around them is a really good solution!

OH, you know what, I thought he was when I recorded this video, but since having played the demo myself I realised he is a different character, haha! I remember seeing a scar on guardian ratha's face and assuming it was the one from the first game. I kept thinking it was very rude they were talking about my "grandfather" when I played as a girl in the first game, hahaha!

Hmm that's a good question! We've seen a few of the other characters from the first game, and they only look a few years older (...on reflection, I really don't know why I thought my character had become a grandad, hahaha), so maybe! My guess is probably not explicitly, but people will talk about "the great rider I once knew" hahaha

My favourite part of spectrobes was the customisation. Even though it was just basic pallet swaps, between that and the different uh, battle parts (I don't remember what they are called), I am just all about that, hahaha. Really jealous of the velicidrome in the demo with the litte shell headband. I want to dress up my monsties too!

@@Whitepawprint Dumb as it sounds, i still think as a kid my favorite part of spectrobes was digging and cleaning up new fossils. Blowing in the Mic and using the tools to clean them off felt so immersive back then 😁

Yesss! Digging up the fossils was such a unique mechanic! I always thought it would be cool to make like a real life version of one of the fossils (maybe out of some kind of plaster or cement or something), but I've never gotten around to it, hahaha. But they're so dang COOL
