It looks epic pal, I'm about to lift the fleece on mine today, hoping it's somewhere like yours, could you put a link where you got your fleece roll from, the one I used was a roll but folded in half as well and it's a pain if you doing a large lawn on your own which I will be next on the back, much easier to roll a wide fleece down in one hit. Looking forward to see yours develop over the next few weeks, I've got the same web cylinder too, great little mower👍

Your dog is even so impressed with it, he just cant stop looking at it😂😂😂It always amazes me how quick rye grass germinates. Lovely colour from that barenbrug seed. I would have mowed it also, but I bought a flymo electric hover mower just for the purpose of mowing mine so soon after seeding, just because it floats so not putting any pressure down on it, or any chance of my webb cylinder mower ripping any out of the soil. But looks like the webb did none of that. Looks fantastic now, but is just going to continue to get better and better with each mow, and time as it establishes more.
@TheReelMowingMowingClub
@TheReelMowingMowingClub 4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I sharpened the webb again the other week in preparation. Only issue is that the front roller pushes down the blades so not all are cut but we can refine it in the coming days. Hate flymo hover mowers. That was my first mower and in my new house in 2008 it ruining my lawn. Didn't hover or mow !!!!
@markslade9722
@markslade9722 4 ай бұрын
@@TheReelMowingMowingClub I am lucky I got the Flymo hover vac 250, so it is super light, and really does hover, but I have heard some of the other models are heavy and don't float. Yeah I found that also with the Webb, lots of cylinder mowers you can get long grass kits, which consist of replacing the front roller with two narrow diameter castor wheels, so the grass is then not flattened, but I don't see a kit for the Webb, so just made my own by getting two white nylon castor wheels from bil castors online, so just placed those on the spindle that the metal front roller normally rotates on the Webb. If you buy larger diameter castors than the actual diameter of the supplied front roller, it also then allows a higher height of cut than standard. But your barenbrug being dwarf rye I would imagine would probably like to be kept between 10 and 15mm. Joe at mushroom galaxy has the mm50 dwarf rye mixed with his prem pitch, and the mm50 likes to be mowed down to 4mm, no surprise it is the mm50 they use on Wimbledon tennis courts.

Looking really good. What height did you cut it? Im waiting for my reel mower to arrive. The grass is close to 2.5 inches. I noticed snow mould today😢 there has been lots of mist and dew. I watered 3 times a day since removing the fleece to help any other seeds germinate. Itscprobably stayed too damp as its in shade. I may let it dry today and then only water in the mornings and mow as soon as the mower arrives

@stevenbelcher5658 I'm never a fan of mulching , unless you are removing the absolute minimum of grass - like mm taken off or less as it looks untidy to me. Also with the snow mould issue, never experienced that here as we get snow for about 15 minutes then it's gone so not long enough to do damage! I'd wait to bag the clippings on thr first mows
@stevenbelcher5658
@stevenbelcher5658 4 ай бұрын
@@TheReelMowingMowingClub Thanks. I'll wait until the bag come then. It's just called snow mold but is caused by being wet all the time. I kept up watering 3 times a day for 5 days after removing the fleece as a lot of seed still hasnt come through in certain areas. Thats combined with being in shade and the mists has resulted in disease. I'll have to let it dry out today and then make sure not to water after 2pm so there is time for it to dry out before the evenings.

Excellent work mate. I’m at day 10 now myself with the same extreme dwarf, but only as an overseed project. Results not as good as yours and i personally put it down to the compost I used. Cheers pal. I think the bonemeal has helped too, along with the seaweed amd the seaweed enriched jacks. But I think the jacks may have introduced some weed seeds into it which is annoying.
