Did think of going down the LPG route, but we don't use enough to make it viable. It's a great system if you use a lot of gas. Great video, thanks for sharing👍Mark & Coral

It was a no brainer for us with the amount of offgrid camping we do, the cost difference is unbelievable. We have however still got our propane system if we ever need it so we can go back if needed. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Propane is easier to light on a frosty morning and burns hotter, but if there is a supply problem it may be the right move, good luck.

Hello, great video! By coincidence, I have a Knaus Sky Ti with the same bottle cupboard. Currently it has 2 x 6kg calor propane bottles. It looks tight, would you suggest the same for me or in hindsight would you have gone for 2 x 6kg.
@letsgosomewheretravels947623 күн бұрын
Thanks for watching and commenting. I would have gone for 2x11kgs, but both wouldn't fit as it was tight, so I opted for 1x11kgs and 1x6kgs. This has served us well in our travels as we lived fulltime in ours for 16 months before returning to a property

@ thanks, I think we will do the same. We are going to be full timing for 2-3 years starting in March around the UK then off to Europe. Thanks again, enjoyed the video 👍🏻

I'm in the process of planning for a Gaslow installation in my van, and your video has been very helpful. One thing that I think I'll do different is running a bead of sealant round the filler cup before tightening it down. Have you had any water coming in around yours?
@letsgosomewheretravels9476 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. No we have had no water at all coming from ours. We are now fulltime in our motorhome and have used this system constantly during the winter months without any issues. Good luck with yours.

I don''t think there is a difference between the two gases here in Australia. I think in some countries they add 20% Butane to the Propane to make it LPG.

You know i don't even know what the diffetence is so i may take a look at it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

I wouldn't have bothered. LPG is about to become obsolete. Every garage within the M25 has alread closed within a month because of the ULEZ about to come into effect in October. It's almost impossible to get LPG now that shell has stopped shipping it.
@letsgosomewheretravels94763 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Mark , we aware of all the issues with LPG that is why we have kept our 6ks calor bottles and connector system . With all our travelling sort of planned for the remainder of this year we will still see a massive saving. As for europe and LPG we will have to keep watching all the forums to see what the future holds.

The liquefied petroleum gas(LPG) sector is expected to grow despite concerns over Brexit and COVID-19, according to a new report. The report by trade body Liquid Gas UK including a survey of industry experts, which shows the vast majority (86%) expect turnover to grow in the next 12 months. It also reveals that the sector has also earmarked 106m of investment into bioLPG, which is made from 100% renewable sources and emits up to 90% fewer emissions than LPG, helping to kick-start the industries vision to reach 100% bioLPG by 2040. Overall, the LPG industry directly employs at least 3,500 people in the UK and has an annual turnover of over 1billion, with almost three quarters (74%) indicating growth in sales over last 12 months. In that time, 115m has been collectively invested by industry. For gas suppliers, the sectors of significant growth over the 12 months to May 2020 were domestic heating (68% of respondents), leisure and recreation (50%) and hospitality and street food (27%). With confidence of growth and ambitions to invest, the industry is still faced with some key concerns. Almost three quarters (74%) of respondents highlighted a severe skills shortage. Technical roles such as engineers, LPG installers and plumbers are those that were most frequently highlighted as facing serious skills shortages, with two thirds (66%) of respondents reporting difficulties in recruiting qualified engineers. ‘Its great to see that in a time of an unprecedented economic difficulty, the LPG industry is bucking the trend,’ said Liquid Gas UK chief executive, George Webb. ‘The census proves we have the appetite for growth and the ability to deliver, with the industry building up its workforce, improving its infrastructure, making huge investments and expanding into new, as well as existing, markets. We have a 1bn industry and plans for 600m in investment in the years ahead. Proportionally, that level of committed investment is massive.

We are hoping so , first fill up for 17 kgs was only £17 that's so much better than a 6kgs propane bottle exchange for £25. We still have the propane system if we need to go back to it. Hope you had a great weekend at the show.

@@letsgosomewheretravels9476 yes my 10kg bottle costs about a tenner to fill up. I had a cracking weekend thanks. Hope you guys did too.

Hi mate. What sort of savings can we expect over buy calogas from dealer.
@letsgosomewheretravels94762 жыл бұрын
At the time of install we were paying average £23 per refill on calor gas bottles, however we have found a massive saving converting to LPG. We have a 11kg and 6kg and depending on lpg gas prices we can fill both for less than £20. It does depend on the price you are paying for lpg as it varies across the UK but we are so glad we converted.
