I know multiple guys that picked up felonies for pulling their gun like that. I wouldn't be surprised if the guy trying to 'help' got charged.

100% agree, that was dumb af to pull a gun after stopping and inserting yourself in a situation that wasn't your own while knowing your young daughter is on the back. I hope she grows up smarter than that and can see her dad was a complete retard.

Good take and advice on this white knight, seriously. I've been in a situation like this before and said "hey you guys alright? Everything good? Everyone okay?" With a tone of concern and sincerity. Girl said she was fine and guy said "they're just going through some things right now. I responded saying "okay, you guys probably don't want to be out here hitting each other and stuff. People will get concerned and might call the cops, I'm just saying." Guy said "they're done fighting and will stop." Even thanked me for my concern and left.

Sage advice. You never know the context, circumstances, and what led up to the incident. There are self-defense content creators that have mentioned how an effort to intervene created a situation with the assailant and victim, both, going after them. A lot of domestic situations go that direction, with the woman raging on the intervenor trying to protect her abuser. I witnessed this exact thing before. As I was writing this, you mentioned it at 8:30. The exception I would make is if I witnessed closed-fist punches to an elderly person or a child. There's is no context that makes that sort of treatment on a senior citizen or child right.

Unjustifiably pointing a gun at a person is considered aggravated assault in all 50 states. It carries a sentence of up to (at least) ten years, with some states imposing sentences of up to 30 years. • Unless the person _and_ the person being defended meets the exact same requirements for a self-defense claim, it is not considered self-defense or defense of another. • Here are the five requisite elements of self-defense or defense of another: 1. Innocence 2. Imminence 3. Avoidance (non-SYG states) 4. Proportionality 5. Reasonableness • You must meet all five of these elements; if you fail to meet even one, your self-defense claim will fail. • Here's why it's monumentally risky (and foolish) to get involved: Element #1, "innocence," requires that you are *_not_* the aggressor, the provocateur, or in the commission of a crime. • In the case of defense of another, the person being defended must m meet the requirements of element #1. • _How could a person possibly know whether the person to be defended meets the requirements of element #1?_

I think there's a happy medium of waying the risks/what you know and helping people who need help. the guy definitely over reacted but its better than the instances of people getting molested/assaulted in public wile everyone is to much of a coward to do anything.

Thank you for being the voice of reason. lots of the time it's a couple fighting, no she isn't going to leave him even if he beat the shit out of her every sunday, she will probably call the cop on you or hit you in the back while you fight with his "Romeo". Bike guy just wanted to intervene by pure ego in front of his wife and daughter, and could have escalated the situation even worse. The victim was just next to the assaillant when pointed his gun at him, could miss and hit her instead, or shoot through him and hit her or a bysanter that has nothing to do with it. Analyse the situation, call the cops, and intervene only when a life is at sake.

Every time I see videos like this, I have a couple thoughts. 1. I agree with not intervening if you have no business being involved UNLESS it is absolutely necessary (insert reason why you can articulate necessity). 2. People should be great witnesses in these situations and call police. 3, as far as not intervening unless you’re a trained proficient individual. I work with other police officers that are expected to go to these situations yet are only slightly more qualified (knowledge of law) than a normal person but are absolutely not physically prepared to handle this any more than anyone else. I can’t believe how many of my coworkers don’t train in or never have trained in martial arts. That’s the wildest part to me. They’re absolutely expected to go to these types of situations to be counted on but sit on their fat asses on their days off rather than hit the mats to be prepared and reliable when someone else needs their help.

‘Evil flourishes when good people do nothing.’ Maybe this scenario wasn’t the best example, men hitting women is unacceptable. In any other scenario I agree with the above. 🙏 I also wouldn’t go straight to violent confrontation. I‘ve been in situations like this where simply being there as a witness (I’m not a small man) has given men cause to break out of their rage and reconsider. I also live in the UK so by and large we don’t have to worry about fire arms. But come on guys, step up (intelligently) or live with the knowledge that you were a coward for the rest of your life. Again I’m only talking about male on female (or child) violence where anyone is simply taking a beating. Anything else, I’m on my way home. 🙏

If the woman is clearly screaming for help, then I suppose it's only right to intervene. If she's not, then that would imply that it's a domestic dispute.

Here in Australia a few years ago now a couple of white knights intervened to save a 'victim' when her 'boyfriend' who was beating up on her in public. Turns out he was a member of a bikie gang and was armed. He put holes in both of them with one taking the forever sleep. He was married with four children. The other was a tourist who has permanent injuries. The guy 'loved' her so much he even put a hole in her. NEVER intervene in a domestic situation regardless of how bad it looks. If someone is that concerned then call the police.

I rolled up to a situation on the street where a couple were arguing and some big guy thought he would tell the little guy to not raise his voice at a woman a pushed him. Well the little guy was a karate and boxing champ and he wrestled in HS. Needless to say big boy was done for and little guy got 5 years for AB1 and causing serious bodily harm. I told the man never again b/c the other man could have killed him or worse.
