I moved to Pahrump in 2019. I moved from Las Vegas. It was so crowed and crime filled. I lived in a 2-story house that had no back door or yard. The HOA made us keep the porch light on or get fined. It took 20 minutes to drive 3 miles??!! So I live in Pahrump in a 1600 sq ft manufactured home affixed on land on 1/2 acre. I live walking distance to huge mountains. It is so quiet, beautiful and clean air, nice people. I have horses and donkeys coming on my property. To me, the bad things are outweighed by the peaceful, low crime, clean living. Btw the very BEST fireworks show is in Pahrump. Beyond awesome. It is crowdfunded by the people. As the town is not incorporated there are very few rules. SO……Freedom abounds!

Several trips to the hospital for smoke inhalation, because ppl SNEAK(or think they're being sneaky), and burn all night in a smoker, smoke meat for days at a time, burn trash because they don't want to pay, burn yard waste, and etc., the dump is right up the street, and it's FREE! There is 4H which offers Robotics for all abilities (their most advanced group won state championship and who knows they could have won the world championship if it hadn't been cancelled for COV..) they offer archery and a range of different gun shooting sports, animal classes including dog training and livestock, sewing classes and Minecraft club. 4H is basically free too. Then there are numerous sports available for kids to do such as baseball, football etc as well as dance and drama classes, swimming is really cheap too. There's also scouts and horse riding. Then many of the churches run different clubs too. I don't know how you can say that there isn't much for kids! I did hear that the school district is one of the worst in state but I don't know about that as I homeschool mine.

I came from Vegas and I can say that the Middle school here is either better or worse in some aspects I was originally from Escobedo Things that are Better: -The layout is more creative, which is way better than having a block for a school -You go to school earlier so you get more free time -The school teaches subjects better -There is way less stealing going on -The half hallway direction is way better than making a one way hallway where you need to re enter the pod to go to another class Things that are Worse: -The school is poor. It cannot afford any instruments, and there are no showers. (My old middle school had a bunch of showers) -The school is pretty strict -The fields are smaller -The layout is better and worse, as it takes more time to traverse the school. I'd say it's slightly better than my old school.

What about all the red light houses in Pahrump. Too many people moving in will make them leave. And lost tax revenue.
@aliadam5752 жыл бұрын
❇⚓🇺🇸⚓❇.....¿?.....Then perhaps customers/folks of that interest should consider places like Pahrump together with the rest of the state of Nevada to move to since the origins of Las Vegas & Nevada go back to that purpose since a good # of people would rather live elsewhere IMHO.....

Nice thing about Pahrump is...it still cools down at night. Vegas no longer does that.
@fredharvey272011 ай бұрын
@@ourcreativebeehive Pahrump is small with lots of open space and lots. Vegas is a heat island. I used to know a guy from Phoenix. He was an avid hiker and there in the summer he told me that you can only hike at midnight. That's crazy to me. I grew up in Colorado. No thanks. I don't even hike near Denver when it's 100 degrees here. Either skip it or go farther up into the mountains where it's cooler.

I was looking to move to Pahrump. My problems ended up being: the new developments on the nice side of town are half a mile from a race track so it sounds like there is a nascar race going on somedays. Also the “not nice” part of town felt like it was straight out of Breaking Bad or the Wire. Super sketch. I could smell the meth in the air. I would love to live in a quiet little desert town but Pahrump is not it for me.

The radio legend Art Bell resided here, when there was not much around, he was prolly horrified OR would turn over in his grave if he saw the growth of this strange town, or, perhaps he noticed. Can someone clarify ?
@dethray10002 жыл бұрын
loved art bell--took night duty with my tanker trucks just so i could listen to him--he was the best--he loved pahrump -he lived on the edge of town--after his son got molested by teacher(teacher arrested,prison) and his wife died he was never the same...

A problem with Pahrump. There really is no amenities. Yes we are a senior citizen town and the senior citizens have to travel over 60 miles to see their doctors in Las Vegas. If you want surgery you have to go all the way to Las Vegas if you want to buy clothes you have to go to Las Vegas. There isn’t shit here. The only thing it’s good for is outdoor activities.
