Thank-you for another excellent video about middle TN. We can’t wait to move there this summer. Best positives for us will be: four seasons with a shorter more manageable winter than IL or NY, hiking/kayaking, and so many concerts to choose from in Nashville! Keep up the wonderful videos

This list leaves out much more important reasons it is unsafe for many people to move to Tennessee. I live in Nashville as well, and we literally had a Neo-N@zi rally downtown last month. The nearby city of Murfreesboro made public affection between same-sex individuals illegal until that was struck down as a First Amendment violation. Wearing drag on public property was briefly a crime statewide until that law was struck down as a First Amendment violation. Only religious ministers "having the care of souls" and public officials are allowed to officiate weddings, and it's perfectly legal for anyone to decline to marry a gay couple. That hasn't been struck down as a First Amendment violation, which I assume is legislators' reason for passing so many laws that are obvious First Amendment violations. These are all recent changes to Tennessee law clearly intended to make it more hostile to racial and religious minorities and the LGBTQ+ community. The fact that there's a Mormon temple in town doesn't change the level of religiosity in this state, which is more intense than any other state I've lived in. I have my reasons for needing to live in Tennessee anyway, and I imagine there are many other people who would say the same. But I find this list silly at best and harmful at worst. Yes, bachelorette parties are obnoxious, but they don't have a practical effect on the daily lives of residents like all those state-sanctioned attempts to criminalize every form of queerness in this state. If you DON'T want to make a list about Tennessee's problems, then don't make one. But if you're going to call your video that, next time try considering aspects of living in this state that have a much more immediate effect on the daily lives of people considering a move here.
