The last of the truly great Final Fantasy games. And I loved Blitzball, so much so I wished Square would have made a stand-alone Blitzball game, I kid you not.

I would agree that the first Final Fantasy game you played holds a special place amongst others in the series, and while X was not my first it was my second. And I loved it! I don't think we'll see another JRPG like this again.

Great video! One important thing that distinguishes the linearity in this game from that of FFXIII is that there is a huge variety of things to do in FFX, where as, there are almost no unique things to do in FFXIII. I'm excited to see how you approach the behemoth topic that is FFXI!

Interesting that this was your first JRPG proper (I don't count Zelda personally), but now I totally know what you mean about how it's roles are more customizable versus FF9. For my money FFX didn't click with me as a SNES / Psone Final Fantasy fan. It was the voice acting during the intro that just out me off, it came out when I was at a unique age. I was getting more into PC gaming & more action based games. I've been planning to go back to the earlier games, specifically FF4 to FF9 as I've played them before (other than 5) & was on the fence about giving FFX another try. This video sold me on giving FFX another go, as I know I'll enjoy the combat. You also made the story much more interesting for me & I'll give the writing & voice acting another try since I'm much older now.

I hope you find it more enjoyable if you try again. I definitely think the VA suffers from the era it came out in - it's not the voices but the lack of direction and cohesion and poor editing - which every game from this era suffers from to some degree. I think I was a little shaken by the VA presentation but by the time I was 10 hours into the game I had got used to it, it no longer bothered me. But, yeah, first impressions can stink sometimes. Fortunately I think it did everything else right so, I can overlook that one thing. And there's always the japanese voices with subtitles if the dub bothers you that much. Cheers for watching,

You should cover final Fantasy X2? It's A game itself. Once you get into it. It's really fun.

My save file is 182 hours. Ive been working on unlocking the grid for everyone and maxing out everything. While FF8 was my first experience and will always be one of my favorites, FFX i believe is thr pinnacle of the series. This is a masterpiece on so many levels. Grrat video

Thanks! It's the game in the series i've replayed the most, and on my 3rd playthrough I maxed out the sphere grid for Tidus, Auron and Rikku. I can't begin to imagine how many hours I've sunk into it across both the PS2 and Switch re-release combined....

I think this, and VII, both get some flak for these games being their entry point to the series. People tend to love their first experience the most
