Great video! I've been playing gw2 off and on for a decade... But never got past level 30. I recently got back into it, got to level 80, and am starting endgame. Now, I'm hoping to persuade a few friends to join me... And I'm going to send them this video! Wish me luck and thanks again!

Great video! GW2 is an amazing game and the only MMORPG I stuck with for the term. WvW, which is a type of massive PvP (think realm versus realm) is what kept me playing. It's just such an amazing mode, especially when played with a group of friends. You can also find these friends while playing the game, that's what I did 😁

As someone whose main game is gw2 and likes seeing new players/content creators trying out or making videos about gw2, im mainly here cuz of the COD players viewpoint since ive played very little COD (other than covid warzone squads ofc) Edit: Great video my man!

As someone who mostly do open world/story and fractals I can tell that most of the playerbase is always open to help others. You ask for help in chat and you most of the time get the help from people. Not just ''go Google it yourself'' additude. You also dont need to think about gear as you do in WoW because endgame can be done in exotics. You can take a 2 year break and your gear will still be relevant. People in Tier 4 fractals are mostly chill people that dont go full toxic on you for making mistakes. In WoW you will mostly likely get kicked if you do. Also you dont have people linking dmg meters in chat just to boost thier ego. And those people who have dmg meters mostly keeps it a secret and only tells it if they were competing with a friend or guild member. Story wise its easy to fell in love with some of the chars that follow you around. My own fav is Taimi. She got the energy and always makes you laugh. Overall for me GW2 will always be better then WoW after what I have experinced in the 10 years I played WoW. Too much toxicty. Too much drama and people are thier own worst enemy.

GW2 is very good. I like how you can play it just a little and still have fun, I've recently been very busy and I logged in maybe 3 times a week for an hour or even half an hour to play WvW and sometimes progress one of my chars along the story and it is still fun, I feel I do something meaningful to help my team in WvW, I add a little bit to what my character can do.

I personally always have GW2 as my secondary MMO while rotating between many of the Triple A Vertical Progression MMOs. I feel GW2 is a great place to relax and play the game at your own pace. I play for the experiences that I have with other players. I feel as I have gotten older, the concept of GW2 is becoming more and more appealing as the years go by and having more commitments out of the game leads to certain games where your gear and stats are constantly improved upon every patch becomes more of a chore than enjoyment. I prefer Horizontal Progression a-lot now, especially since I have branched out to many other Genres of gaming, I love the pick up and play formulae that most new games tend to focus on. Love it or hate it, GW2 is here to stay, especially for people who love the MMO concept, but rather than chasing a number every patch, we play for the experiences. In comparison to your typical vertical progression MMOs, every new patch you are focused on one thing, quickly acquiring the highest Item Level gear. Every quest, dungeon, raid, world quest you do, you are thinking of the gear, you are tunnel visioned on that one goal, while you are completely ignoring the new content in-front of you. Even though GW2 has no gear progression, the ability to customize your build is quite amazing, sure if you want to maximize your DPS, there's only a handful of choices. You can choose to do harder content or stick with the more casual content. The beauty of GW2 is that you are rewarded for doing either. Now that the PvE Open World Legendary armor is released, players of all skill levels have access to the best gear in-game. Unlike in your typical Vertical Progression MMO where the best gear is locked behind difficult raids or pvp. Sure you can make counter arguments for each of these points, however what I'm trying to say is that GW2 gives all players an even playing field in terms of 'Power', the difference lies in your skill and dedication to the game, not some arbitrary number that is artificially increased every patch which leads players to be blinded to what's in-front of them.

A new gen CoD player, I would add, unless you got thousands of hours in CoD 4, 5 & 6 as well, since most of the original CoD players left after CoD 9. Not a bad video, definitely made some good points, but it still won't get me into this kind of mmo.

There are a lot of people who play more than one or two games daily. I have friends that play StarCraft and CS since the beginning of time. The genre doesn't really matter anymore. I'm probably the only person who would care if you said you only played NBA or FIFA I may actually care.. but cod to an RPG is normal for most people I know.

It is a good but it is starting to look dated, every other MMO has went out it's way to improve or enhance texture quality.
@TimeLinesAreKeyАй бұрын
you are absolutely right! I'd love to see guild wars's graphics being improved or enhanced. However just like @henrythegreatamerican8136 said: it's still a last gen MMORPG.. BUt I hope that they will consider upgrading the graphics soon.
@KalibreSteelblastАй бұрын
I would count its dated appearance to actually be a strength instead of a flaw. It means that most PCs or portables like Steam Deck can handle playing it; which means it doesn't need expensive advanced hardware to play; which more players have access to it; which means a larger playerbase. And honestly, GW2's artisanal approach (which is a visual goal they've been dedicated to since it released) is well-executed considering how many different locations it takes the players.
@WenediАй бұрын
I wish they updated the core class ability vfx. These skills just look so outdated compared to other games. There is also a list of thousands of bugs which are left unfixed for years simply because they don't give a shit about the old content. They just rush out new expansions so they can make more money - nothing is done to improve what already exists.
@CeresOutpostАй бұрын
It's neat and all, but getting enough people around to do things like collection bounties is nearly impossible.
@jamesreid6778Ай бұрын
True, but I suppose that's what making an LFG is for.
@TimeLinesAreKeyАй бұрын
True! The only way to avoid that most of the time is finding an active guild that does this sort of things!
@daze4135Ай бұрын
The best money I ever spent in the game was the 300~g for the commander tag. You won't believe how fast you can get people together by just popping the tag on and yelling in map chat. Hell, even the mentor tag works. I was once in inner nayos getting achievements when some dude yelled in map chat asking for help killing a champ mob. I told him to put the mentor tag on, he didn't know how to do that. I taught him how, then I saw his location in the map and a BUNCH of players like 20 or so came to help. Then someone said "now you know how to call gondor for aid" lmao
@Earthz1412Ай бұрын
Really? I never had any problem do things that require a lot of people
@KalibreSteelblastАй бұрын
It's not terribly difficult. Alot of people _want_ to do that content, just not alone. I find that activating a commander or mentor tag and advertising a bounty group is all it usually takes.

And as decent as this game is, players need to remember it's still a last gen MMORPG because player decisions have zero impact on anything in the world. The next true generation of MMORPGs will be Star Citizen and Ashes of Creation.... assuming they officially release 🙂 Having said that, of all the MMORPGs on the market right now, I'd choose GW2. It's more fun than WoW, ESO, and Final Fantasy in my opinion.
@Riaining7Ай бұрын
Player impact made upon the world is actually best in class in GW2, so I'm not sure why you're saying "player decisions have zero impact on anything in the world." That's straight wrong, as all the events are dependent on player interaction to proceed, and thus change the landscape of the world, sometimes for minutes, sometimes for hours. It's the most innovated MMO of them all, and it's not even a close comparison to what's available. And that doesn't even touch on the griffon flight mechanics which are the main reason I play this game.

Why do you think that?
@PATHETIC_DISASTERАй бұрын
@@renesiklenka4139 Think? I don't think that, i played the game, i know. Don't expect much from a developer that has trouble adding 2 bosses a year, and can't even give them movement because animating a boss is just too difficult for them in 2024. And they have the audacity to charge money for this. Not a single actual gamer can be OK with this, but a casual mom that doesn't know any better would never even noticed that because she is still creating her first legendary 12 years later. This game is not made for gamers. 2016 was the last year this game had actual team supporting the game. If the whales playing this game quit, this game is going on life support because its incapable of attracting new players that stick... all of them leave within 1-2 weeks.
