I genuinely hold the opinion that it's the best FSN adaptation bar none. Deen for all their faults actually understood the spirit of the original material and respected it. I'm actually reminded of Fate when I watch it, it genuinely feels like I am reading the vn while the ufotable animes are alien and unfamiliar.

Spoilers ahead: What friendship points do is to change mostly endings Fate route: if you don’t get enough points with saber, in one point Kirei offers her the holy grail if she kills you, and she does, if you have enough points she won’t UBW: if your points with rin and saber are the same you get the good sunny days ending, if not you get the true ending HF: if you have enough points with illya (and don’t use projection and a specific fight) you get the true ending, if you don’t have enough points (or use projection) you get the normal (bad) ending

Minor tidbit. Shirou used the injury as an excuse to quit archery, the reason he quit was because he saw there was nowhere to improve, so he viewed it as pointless to practice. Also shinji is a piece of heaven.

I have a really hard time with Fate in general since I used to be a huge fan, but I also have a toxic ex-friend who sort of poisoned the well for me. As much as I want to like Fate again, I can't stop thinking of them when I try. With the remaster coming out I'm really considering giving it another go, but I'm still on the fence. Good video though!

I will admit, my curiosity for wanting to give this VN a try is just... ...Because I thought Shirou and Saber/Artoria looked like a cute couple. Yeah. The one reason I feel inclined to try this VN out is because I am interested in the relationship between a sword fanatic with PTSD and a waifu version of King Arthur.

i only recomend deen's 2006 fate AFTER you watch the other adaptations, i remember when i first watched, i almost dropped, cuz at the time i though the writing and pacing too bad to enjoy, i rewatched after watching zero, when i already was at the fate train and knew a lot more of lore, and enjoyed a lot more

For anime-only people who are planning on watching the Deen adaptation skip the 2nd half of EP17 and the entirety of EP18 and continue from EP 19. These 2 EP contain spoiler from UBW and HF. What happens in the VN is that Caster attacks Shirou's house instead of them fighting under Ryudoji Temple.

13:20 as good as this fight is I do have probloms that it somewhat ignores the visual novel for example there are several things in this fight that saber alter should just absolutly not be able to do(and thats ignoring the fact the fight was extanded to be way longer and different than it was in the visual novel) berserker is implied to use madness enchantment in this fight making his power A+ saber alter is only A so how is she physicaly overpowering berserker? than the fact she somehow kills berserker several times using mana burst and I did the math on this after the first mana burst she would not be able to injure him again awasome fight but it made no sense
