Gosh I wish I could never set up a base. Getting raided is so annoying to me and I don’t feel like using the same water defense as everyone else.

I’d love if you did an overview of the whole “Black Desert Region” (Deadlands, Iron Valleys, Black Desert, Grey Desert), since the latter three seem to have less going on with them than the Deadlands proper. Grey Desert especially, since it’s one of my favorite regions to settle.
@MenwithHill Жыл бұрын
In my humble opinion Iron Valleys is even worse than the deadlands. It has no level ground, is incredibly annoying and tedious to navigate and borders worse regions than the Deadlands, while also having just as bad resources and weather.

I settled here with hardly any people with the highest combat stat being 12. Now I've got 20 quadriplegic veterans.

In my experience, while grass pirates come in smaller groups, those groups are *everywhere* While obviously not nearly much of a threat compared to reavers, a low level squad moving through the region is still going to be in trouble because you're going to see grass pirates at least once a kilometer.
@paulrogersgaming Жыл бұрын
True. They are EVERYWHERE. It was hard to get footage of other spawns because it's over 50% Grass Pirates.

The northern section of the southeast, including the Big Three, is probably my favorite part of the map for bases. It's got just the right combination of proximity to towns, access to resources (animals as well as leather, copper and good farmland), relative closeness to endgame content and a constant sense of danger. Aesthetically I'd be more inclined to settle in Stormgap than Gut, but unfortunately only the western part of the territory is in range for Holy Nation raids. Access to traders and events is definitely something to keep in mind when creating a base.

Big yap session My first actual successful character first settled in stormgap to make a small group bootleg cactus rum business/raider camp for hundred days or so of smooth business, where me and my 3 other buddies(generic npcs) would attack bandit camps and sometimes raid local waystations or traveling traders and sell their loot. We’d also enslave those who lived through our attacks for extra money, we were basically dust bandits on roids, but eventually, beak things killed one of our members, and the united cities attacked our camp and enslaved the rest of us. After a week, I ended up in rebirth somehow, with a missing arm and devoid of purpose. All I did was slave away while slowly increasing my lock picking and toughness. After a month, I finally was able to escape, but I didn’t know where to go. I just wondered from place to place for a few days until I ended up at the martial arts village, where I put aside the sword in order to fight against slavers and give the mistreated people of kenshi a place where they could be safe. I got my martial arts and dex up to around 70 multiple nights of kidnapping beak things, putting them in beds and punching them, and freeing them later on. I decided my new purpose was to find a settlement where living was easy compared to the outside world, a beacon of hope in a dark world, and so I gathered some new recruits as I traveled north, and settled in darkfinger, close to the heartlands of the cannibals. You might be wondering, why would I want to make a safe heaven near a bunch of mutant monsters? Well because like I said, a beacon of hope in a dark world, I wanted to make a safe and prosperous city in the heart of cannibal territory to not only stand up to the cannibals, but to show the rest of the world that we can take back our land from the monsters of the world. So now here I am today, day 231, with a walled city once again making rum, but also holding the lives of over 70 people, with 20 highly trained guards in specialist samurai plate armor, so that the only struggle the remaining 50 have to deal with is farming and mining.

Just settled along the coastline of this region a little ways west of the cult base. Used a mod to recruit the broken ones and using them as the security force for the non-combatants of the town. Other mods affecting the region include waste fiends and tyrants, and some mod that adds small second empire legion patrols in a few other areas outside of the ashlands. Needless to say, the area is pretty damn chaotic

depending on the world state you get attacked by a ton of different factions, I like to build bases without walls because it helps every character in the base to level up combat skills and this place is perfect for this kind of thing.

Used the big house in Squim to get 3/4 through thr tech tree, then set up on the last bit of coast before the pennisula. Great flat land for hemp and wheat, copper, 2 irons, stone, and the greenlander reavers make good farmers and guards once they show up. Ally the crabs and shoot the tax man on sight, enjoy the free armor every few weeks. If you download the mod for craftable ration packs, you've got an unlimited source of meat to the northwest, and greenfruit grows easy.

Just a note that you forgot to add is that some reaver slaves will join you for free if they... a. Survive b. Momentarily become your ally after lockpicking their shackles c. Don't leave after the temporary ally status finishes. After these 3 circumstances are met they will join you for free. This way, I got a few free reaver slave recruits after a few reaver raids.

@paulrogersgaming I say some reavers, but I had quite a few reaver raids, and I think I got about 3 or 4 in total. It's been a while since I played. I did some quick searches, and the wiki says that only those possessing a certain personality type have the possibility of joining. So I guess the possibility of it is kind of low. However, if you've made a base where you get raided frequently by reavers like I did, you will eventually get some.
