It’s literally common sense, especially if you’re a guy. Why would you chase a relationship at 20 when chances are, you don’t even have your stuff together. Let’s be honest most of you guys are probably broke, still living with parents, ect. which is okay, but if you’re at a point in life where you don’t know yourself yet and you can’t even be a fully functioning adult, relationships should be the last thing on your mind. Society conditions us to think you’re weird for not being in a relationship but is perfectly fine with you losing all your zest for life and being mediocre just so you can say “I have a gf”

@woodfairycave3 жыл бұрын
I don't think it makes a difference if you're a man or a woman. You're 20's are here to find out what you want, who you are and work on your goals. Of course it's an individual choice and everyone's different. But saying that women are in their prime in their 20's is based on the sexist belief that women should be youthful to be attractive while men can be older and should be more mature.

11:24 as you said it’s all about priorities, personally I wouldn’t be willing to end a special relationship for monetary or personal development reasons, without trying to manage both simultaneously. I believe that if the relationship really is that special, you will find ways to keep doing what fulfills you while still being together, even if it means long distance for a year or two. At the end of the day you can never be certain to ever find a connection like this with an other person again. And you gotta be aware of that. But if you really prioritize personal success, meaning wealth and personal purpose, over a potential long lasting bond that’s fine too. But just like business opportunities, relationship opportunities ain’t appearing regularly in life.

Relationship in your early 20's are a waste of time in my opinion, not only are you not financially stable which could cause your significant other to lose respect quick depending on the person. But relationships aren't for both people to worry about themselves, it's about duty to make sure both parties aren't happy but safe, stable, and loved, but not too much just enough.

True, I had a lot to learn about relationships...I had been a nerd at school and all I thought about was school and getting the grades. I am grateful for the 2 relationships I had. More than anything, they taught me that it is important to have YOU sorted out first. I'm a big time loner, so sometimes I confound my need for company with the need to be with someone...either way...I've worked out that I'll most probably be ready to settle sometime after 30yrs. I'm a 18 yo girl,I had my first boyfriend at 13(crazy I know),we broke up the beginning of last year,I didn't feel ready, for a relationship, I wanted to focus more on myself and God, and I felt like I was too young, so we agreed to break up. Then months later ,around November of 2020 ,I started to feel depressed, with low self estimate, started to gained weight, not doing so great in school, it last for more than 6 months.... Mid summer of this year,I think August, I started to get better, started to workout, got into college, feeling like myself again, and I also turned 18 But keep in mind, during My moment of depression no guys seemed to be interested in me,and this added more to my low self estime, I felt like I wasn't attractive enough, I used to cry because no guys seemed to be interested in me...but okay So when I started to work on my self, got a bit closer to God, felt a bit productive etc, 5 men ,yes 5 grown men got into my life ,they had their life together I'd say...I decided to give one of them a chance....and u know what it was the worst decision I could made. I knew I wasn't ready for a relationship, he wasn't what I wanted in a man...but I wanted to feel loved by a guy,I wanted to have someone in my life...u know all what he wanted ,sex,sex and sex.. he said he loved me cause I don't sleep around but I explained to him that I can't have sex with him...he got mad,said I was selfish and that I was a christian brainwashed So I accepted to have sex with him because I didn't wanna be alone anymore but everytime after doing it,I felt so empty, because I knew it's wrong Everytime I said that I can't, he kept saying that I was selfish and I only think about myself, every time,so multiple i had to deny my real feelings and say sorry I broke up with him cause I couldn't deal with this feeling anymore,I didn't feel respected enough I know 18 is far from 20's but I will date when I get my mental health, my relationship with God together first Because giving yourself to someone is not worth it if they not the one Now I'm depressed again 🥲

Jordan, currently I’m in a situation where I’ve been seeing a girl for over 6 months now. At the beginning I told her that we’d see each other as friends with benefits because I knew that I wasn’t ready for a relationship and she was on the same page. We usually see each other once week and I’m fairly confident she’s also seeing other dudes as well… as they all do. I feel like we’re getting closer and learning more about each other and I’ve ALWAYS been closed off and pessimistic towards relationships because I believe that it distracts me from my goals as there are sacrifices made. I’m 20, have a growing YT channel at 3.5k subs and I’m quite lost 😞 Not sure whether I should stop seeing her, have a break from it or pursue it further.

I love your content Jordan and you bring up a lot of good points, but I'd have to disagree with you on your main premise. If you feel like your partner's holding you back, it's probably because you're just not compatible. I don't believe that commitment has to involve sacrificing other parts of your life, and a healthy relationship should help both parties grow (as you mentioned). Even if the majority of your relationships don't work out, I feel that the experience gained in the end will be crucial for when you eventually settle. But I do understand where you're coming from because people nowadays don't set the bar high for themselves, and it's hard to find someone with that same mindset so you can lift each other up. And while I do believe that focusing on yourself can help you grow, it can also be incredibly detrimental if interpreted as that sort of "grind" mindset where you end up isolating yourself from the world.
