I made the same move from K-2 a few years ago and instead implemented more jobs but.... they had to apply. They kept their job for the whole grading period and was paid weekly. Their financial literacy and other math skills were through the roof!!! Best of luck to whatever you decide.

Agreed! In Kinder the class practices procedures and we all are responsible for cleaning and putting things away. I do the same, a teacher helper of the day I use for anything like passing out a paper or grabbing me a supply or note to the office.

I think that classroom jobs are still valuable. I have done them monthly, which helps prevent that weekly pressure. This year, we're doing them quarterly. That way, they get time to really do well.

I made the switch two years ago and do 2 a day and used number order …. I will really like your freebie , this will make it awesome way easier to remember who didn’t get a chance.

You explained this so well. I have done a star of the day for years and my students loved it. However, once I had a principal who liked to micro managed everything and didn't like that I did a star of the day because she felt more students needed to be involved. It was frustrating because I explained how it changed daily, but she didn't care.

Genius!!! My frustration has been replacing names with #'s (I use # order system) and then having to reassign a student due to behavior, a move out, ect). The # changes each time it throws everything off. Any solutions, Friend😊? BTW, I LOVE YOUR IDEAS....A L L OF THEM❤❤❤❤

You change the number because of behavior? I don't change their assigned number once they get it for the year.
