I loved dungeoneering after I approached it as a speedrunning challenge. Getting a hang of the abbreviations and communication style with help of the abbreviation wiki page made it really fun, even with randoms. I'm glad you took the time to give this skill a shout out because a lot of players have either forgotten what made it amazing to begin with or simply weren't here around 2010 when Dungeoneering was hands down the coolest thing in the entire game. Noobs today will have no problem taking down a hardlocked level 7 Lexicus Runewright but you better believe that back in the day when me and my friends saw that boss at the end we'd be going back to scour the dungeon for as much money and raw food as we could get our hands on. I definitely need so badly the advanced gold accumulator because it also works in the wilderness and you have it in the toolbelt. Very important for doing treasure trails is the dungeoneering cape because you can go to the resource dungeons near places you want to reach instantly. The only thing that I see very hard to justify insane training in dungeoneering is access to the edimnu resource dungeon because you can make close to even more Gp/hour doing lost Grove creatures, nightmares, living wyverns, and ripper demons if making binding contracts at lvl 96 of summoning.

The main reason I don't like dungeoneering is because its like a totally separate game where the progress you make doesn't feel like it directly transfers over to the actual game (no gp or items etc). I know that you can get stuff with tokens but everyone knows that tokens are best gained with ed1. There just isn't enough incentive for the actual training method. Yes the unlocks are good but that doesn't make the training feel better to do whilst you actually are there in the dungeon.

Why are the prices from your reward shop have reduce prices was that from a quest or something?
@jalepinojoe62853 жыл бұрын
First off, I'm maxed with 120 in all the skills that have unlocks until 120, and I've completed hard mode dungeoneering. I disliked dungeoneering for a while and started to have a bit of fun when finally grinding out 99-120. While some resource dungeons are good and a lot of the unlocks from the shop are good, I still don't think it deserves a video like this. After 75 for priff I don't actually see much benefit from training it. Some of these resource dungeons are alright (I use hellhounds A LOT and it's amazing), but most of the lower level skilling ones you'll have at 75, and I still don't think a newer player should do dungeoneering with the mindset "I'm working on unlocking these resource dungeons", they aren't worth that. There's much better money making methods than frost dragons nowadays anyways so I wouldn't say that one is that great either, not having the gorajo dungeon isn't the worst either since the cards are only useful for more dg, you won't have a hard time finding div locations at w84 lumbridge market/burthrope, and since it isn't a wildy bloodweed tree you aren't missing out on that much there either. Edimmu are a good task, but it's only one task, and there are plenty of profitable high level slayer tasks. The sandstone is there as a daily, but if you can put the time into 115 dg, you can do a bit of bossing and make way more money anyway (I'm not saying don't do sandstone, I just prefer doing other things with my time). Now for the rewards. Bone crusher and charming imp require lvl 21, twisted bird skull necklace (pretty nearly the same as demon horn, and split dragontooth is lvl 60 which I'd argue is just as good) is 30, and ring of vigour is 60. Advanced gold accumulator surprisingly doesn't have a dg level requirement. You stated that these are a reason to train dungeoneering, but ED1 is just better here, which proves the opposite of your point (I agree EDs should have a dg lvl requirement so they can't be farmed so easily but that's an entirely different discussion). I don't think dungeoneering is useless, the 99 cape teleports can be really good (especially for clues), but your method of arguing, which seems to be more focused towards newer players that don't know much about the skill, wasn't the best approach. I think dungeoneering is better advertised as a minigame that can be quite fun with friends, a good way to train combat as well as gain a bit of xp in some other skills, and unlock a few resource dungeons or token rewards on the way. Hope you can understand my opinion.
@plagmatics3 жыл бұрын
I see you trying to merch harmonic dust there pal 👀 Jokes aside, I see where you're coming from and would add that dg may not resonate much with new players, since it is an 11 year old skill. It is fairly outdated in terms of gameplay, and elite dungeons did _nothing_ to address that. But if people want rogue-likes, dungeon-crawling, laid-back and risk-free group coop and adventuring, this is the place to go. And I'll disagree with you on the edi dungeon. It is massive and definitely something I aspired for pre-120. But it doesn't have to be your first 99 - or even 120 while your average level is abouts 80 - like it was for me. At the end of the day, just play the game and see what you like. If it's dg, you'll be rewarded for it. Hell, if it's archaeology. Or clues. It all pays off. If it's not dg, then you do you; find good players to dg with, try to keep up with them, and just pray that it ends soon. Your case seems to be like that, and by extension, you might even start enjoying the skill in the process. TL;DR: dg good, not perfect but definitely worth some of one's time.

I HAAAATE IT! It's the most annoying skill every. Mostly because I really don't have any fun and don't get it. The fact that I'm only playing with like one other friend and we can't get good exp rates is probably the other reason we hate this skill with a passion xD

I wish they would just completely delete dungeoneering and add all the weapons and ability unlocks to be discovered and repaired with the Archeology skill. Dungeoneering is just absolutely horrible and tedious in my opinion. Its not even a skill, its just a weird mini game and should be just that. Not a skill.

Great video and information as always. i've always felt doing actual dungeoneering training felt like Runescape within Runescape. It's just a mini game... that's also runescape. Why play the mini game runescape, when i could just play runescape. Honestly if they were to turn dungeoneering floors into basically D3 Rifts, or POE Maps, type content.... holy shit dungeoneering would explode. Imagine random dungeons that you go in and kill enemies with a boss at the end... and imagine the drops actually being worth farming and good. Like tokens/points towards a store... like... dungeoneering tokens... ... .. . . imagine that...... .. . . . instead of Floors that contain stupid ass puzzles and useless pointless content other than to increase the XP bar on the Dungeoneering tab in the skills menu. Imagine. Thank god for ED3 and ED1 giving small dungeoneering experience or i'd seriously be fucked into either playing that actual mini runescape game inside runescape, or just pay for lamps to level it.

So basically a Dungeoneering + Shattered worlds combo? Hmmm

I recently got 99 in that minigame. The cape is super useful, but I hate playing it to try and level up. Like you, I've gotten most of my xp from grinding Elite Dungeons.
@JustinCasualGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@ProtoxxGaming Yeah, my ideal situation would be Dungeons filled w/ mobs (like ED1-3), with a decent challenging boss fitted to your level or a toggle-able level choice when going into the dungeon, and the loot is dropped in a chest at the end where you can either loot it, or keep going to increase the difficulty and loot acquired per dungeon you continue on with. I would like to see the same dungeoneering token currency + reward shop system, no need to change that. What i would really prefer tho, is dungeon-specific or boss-specific gear/weapons/loot to chase... giving you a reason to play the skill and chase those items + XP + tokens. I would play that. I realize some people like puzzles and that kinda bullshit, but i'm not one of them.
@JustinCasualGaming3 жыл бұрын
@@Eyes0penNoFear yeah i mean dungeoneering is one of the most useful skills in the game. There's no doubting that. It's just the skill itself and the way to level it is not to my preference.... and most of the RS community lol.

@Eyes0penNoFear3 жыл бұрын
@@RIPmichealjackson10 I use scythe, MW, blood fury, and regular overloads with either Penance or Vampirism auras. I'm able to solo ED3 and generally only need food for minibosses. I bring a vamp scrimshaw for the minibosses because my internet/phone (I play on mobile) like to crap out on me at inopportune times. It took about 10 runs to get the hang of it, and I probably died a handful of times before I felt confident. When I started I had 90 attack, 92 strength and 85 defense. It didn't take long at all to max. One thing that helped a ton when learning was to bring a legendary pet. I use it a lot when learning new things because it'll teleport you to safety if your hp gets low. It's nice not having to worry about death costs due to a mistake.

doing sinkhole daily is making it more tolerable i don't like it because it looks too much separately of the main game, i'm already learning it, and then the game expects i learn a different game inside the dungeons? i was just speedrunning it and not enjoying.

I really do not enjoy most skills in RuneScape, seeing them more as a means to an end much like a real-world job. That's why Dungeoneering, for the longest time, was my favorite. Archaeology beat it out simply because lore and story are my favorite aspects of RuneScape, but Dungeoneering is still one of my favorites simply because it feels like a game in itself. The level of engagement is a lot more appealing than sitting there, AFKing all day.

People be hating on dungeoneering but i think it's fine skill. Has active component to it and levels slower than you would want (but same applies to slayer). And i'm here that can't stand Agility (disregarding silverhawks) and the stupidass farming. Out of all accounts i've had the farming was always my lowest level. Never got higher than 52... The core reason is that i have difficulty following tight schedules (i'll forget about dailies, i'll forget about crops, maybe remember 2 hours later, etc) and i can't stand the fact that you need so much freaking items to get to fluently (teleport nonsense). Why can't i just go and farm the damn skill actively. Not just periodically go to million places, half of which i don't have access to.
