Nothing wrong with setting up templates. Totally efficient. Didn’t know about linking, that’s a great tip. Cheers

There is one thing though. To link it the way Mendel does you need to have Cubase Pro. While you can link channels in lower versions the lower version don't let you link specific things. It's just volume and that's it.

I totally agree with you! I also use my template for psytrance mixning.. I set, kick, bass, percussion and risers FX as my template and then I just need focus on melodies, harmony and arrangements...So, who does not use templates, lose a lot of time! Cheers!

does there people who even complain about this ? it's a tool for your creativity , musicians are not supposed to be techs initially , so if there a shortcut to spend less time on setting up same stuff faster that gives you more time to create :) question : is there any ways to grab your templates and import in cubase ? just to see how you work and adapt to my way to work

I'm slowly getting to that point where I start to realise what I want and need from my template, just need to start making them. One question though... When you import your tracks, do you import them one by one or the whole groups? If groups, how do you do this? I very often have drum tracks that are all over the place name-wise. OH are the other way round, toms go before kick and snare and so on... Do you rename them to match the order you have it in your DAW or just move them around within the template?

Excellent question, here’s the thing: Before receiving files i send my clients an email how i want my files organized and named. Like specifying the order (Drums, Bass, guitars, synths, vocals aka the order of my template). Most of the time it’s dragging one by one or when you first put the tracks in order of the files you get drag drag em group by group.

@@Mendelian Thank you kind sir. So, in my case it will be renaming and dragging one by one. I work with someone who is very... slow with the computers. :D

I'm pretty much new to Cubase and mixing in general and have dabbled in the LE version and recently purchased the Free upgrade to Pro 10.5 from Artist. I would like to start with good habits like this but I don't know where to start. What would be the best way to set out a template as a starting point? I know this is down to the individual, I would just like to have something to work from then tweak as I learn more. Thanks for the videos!!!

@@Mendelian I’d love a fully mixed template so I can see how each instrument sounds on its own. My mixes are way too dense and harsh.

So when you drag the audio into your template onto existing template audio tracks, will the audio populate the template tracks or will they create their own tracks then you have to drag them into the template tracks? (at 1:52 in the video)
@RudalPL
@RudalPL 4 жыл бұрын
If you drag it into already existing track it will populate this track if dragged into "empty" space it will create new one.

Greeting! 😀 Why would using Template be cheating? 😂😂 Personally, I think that EVERYTHING that makes it easier for you to achieve your goal, better editing, better mixing, ultimately a song that sounds great, is all ok! In the end, whoever listens to your song doesn't care at all if you used, for example, VaryAudio on the vocals (because that's a scam too 😉😂😂), if the vocals sound great. Such things are dealt with by those who only persistently look for error and deception in everything, instead of listening to the song. You can never satisfy someone who doesn't know how to listen to music, it's all cheating...no matter what you do! Using Templates, Plugins, Vst Instruments, various "forbidden" editing tools...anything else that helps you, it's all ok, as long as my ears judge that the song sounds great to me and I can put it on repeat! Great video!! 👍👍👍🎸🙏🍻
