Why you should use an armor zippo ( revisited )

Just thought I should re visit a topic that I have made a video on 2 or three years back , I still honestly believe armors are the best for tricks because they can withstand a beating .

@@Javajavajav niccce , yeah there are good and silver zips too I own a few silvers but I won’t buy anymore because they keep jacking up the price on them , a shame really because there’s only 40$ or so of silver in them

I have a great story as to why you don’t need an armored zippo. My first zippo was a classic $17.95 brushed silver one. I left it on the hood of my truck and it fell off on the road just few houses up from me. I saw it on the road a few days later and I thought it was long gone. I picked it up and noticed it had a decent little dent but still worked like a charm. I live in a busy suburb near a large city so at least 100 cars probably drove over my zippo and they just left one measly dent and it still works fine to this day. That’s why I lol’d when he said at work if you drop your lighter it may not work. Zippos are beastly.

I should’ve said would and is better at withstanding dents than a regular cause mine has come flying out my pocket with force before and when it was a regular it had a substantial dent

Thanks for this advice. You are right about the Armor being a better lighter in many ways, compared to the regular one. I went ahead and got myself the armor zippo and the tricks and instant, compared to the regular zippo tricks.

They offer both a normal version and an armor , if I’m not mistaken , the thing you gotta look for is make sure the listing says armor and shows the bottom stamp it will have a shield with an A in it

Are you talking gold plated vs solid sterling silver or silver plate Vs gold plate ? I mean a gold plated armor is about 120$ but for a little more 150$ , you can get a solid silver that will never go to brass because it’s solid silver , but both silver and gold plate if used heavily will go back to brass after years of use

This is good your walking into Zippo. I've not really seen tricks done with a Zippo. I'm 39 years old, when I was 13 I saw a crazy guy run past me in a crowd he said he had just put zippo fluid in his mouth and lit it. Do you have knowledge of people doing dumb stunts like that? The hinges are the same on armor zippos as a regular zippos but the heavy zippos won't last long

For hiking take a Bic lighter. Zippos are terrible in survival situations. The gas evaporates.

Regular zippos tend to ring out more, but the armors sound and feel more solid overall. It’s a matter of preference, but I personally equate weight and sturdiness with quality, but thats just bc I’m a very tactile feedback oriented when exploring my interests. The deep carve armors for example are a godsend if not for zippos absurd prices. The rose gold deep carve has been a dream lighter of mine for years, but I just can’t justify paying $90/
