So happy that Disney took a chance on giving us 2 seasons of this show. It reignited my interest in the universe. I don't mean it makes me want to go into all the series, but just makes me keep an eye on what's coming up that I might like.

When it comes to star wars music, i also particularly like the works of Kevin Kiner, Stephen Barton and Gordy Haab, who did Clone Wars and Jedi Fallen order respectively. i think they do a good job of capturing the John Williams musical star wars aesthetic; it's still whimsical sort of like the Jedi too. i'm glad that Andor is doing it's own thing and even giving us a more 'dystopian gritty' soundtrack with that whimsicality only slightly peppered in. It fits the perspective of regular people in the Galaxy finding their own paths.

Yep. Andor is Star Wars. Star Wars, when it first came out, was bold, new and very much political. Andor took this spirit, and did its own take while still respecting the universe. I feel a little jealous of Star Wars fans, they got a truly fresh and amazing show. What a rare treat!

Nice choice of background track, the episode 3 closing credits music. The piano almost playing the rebel alliance theme, but not quite. The alliance is coming, but we're not their yet. Wonderful piece of story telling with music.

Makes you wonder how did Andor script get past the "evil KK" at Disney untouched. So I started reading and turns out, if you know what you're doing and Tony Gilroy and his brother do, Disney will respect you and let you do your thing hence Rogue and this show. If anyone is curious, Tony Gilroy wrote a manifesto for the show, pitched it to Lucas film and they loved it.

I think they've done an amazing job with this score, cant wait to hear it grow through the last four episodes! really does feel like normal star wars music for normal galaxy people in comparison to the maximal John Williams score of the Skywalkers.

While (imo) Andor is a better show than Mandalorian, Ludwig Göransson’s work is just as good. Particularly the title track. Will admit that I spend more time listening to Andor OST tho😅 (but only because it’s more recent). Great essay btw.

Which track from the soundtrack is playing in the background of this track? I thought I caught some of the 'Jedi' themes in it, but I think Britell made the conscious choice to omit those patterns. I feel like if he'll use them at all, he might save it for the final development of the resistance, while these tracks feel more like a 'proto-rebel alliance theme.' I'm excited for the rest of the series!

Here's the pattern: While kk and her minions are focused on running a sw property into the ground, a production team that truly loves the franchise flies under the radar and has a sw success with a relatively unknown property. kk sees that success, drops the pooch she's massacred, wrests the new successful property from the people who made it and promptly runs IT into the ground as well. Be prepared--NOTHING ruins a project faster than pouring money and attention into it.

Andor for me ages so well, I feel it’s reputation will get better over time, especially with the next season coming out soon, unlike Ashoka’s nostalgia driven bursts of highs that won’t age well, and it’s piss poor writing and execution, andor is unlike anything because it’s made by creators who want to make the best story possible, Tony Gilroy actually drafted all the scripts thoughtfully, unlike Falonis Ahsoka which feels like a first draft.
