Writing can involve deliberate thought, although, it is not necessary. One could write their thoughts as they occur without applying effort or directing their attention or mind. This would not be very demanding. Deliberately thinking is demanding, and this is typically done while writing. Would you agree that it would be more accurate to say that writing tends to involve the most demanding form of thinking?

I got out of College and found that nobody at all wanted me for anything. Teachers and others had mentioned writing and people talked about writing but I am often afraid of being misunderstood and confusing and so I don't necessarily enjoy writing. But you are right about learning. I feel I have learned a lot by writing and I always hope I am making the correct decision. Mother always said "write it down" and maybe mother was correct. I hope so. Mostly I believe in doing what makes sense to do and doing what I do to improve and benefit my life and the lives of others.

You can "think", by talking, as well. Apparently, coders have a ritual of "talking to the duck", when they're trying to work errors in code.

I took Jordan’s advice and worked on an essay I literally have taken 2 months to finish, I did 3 hours today and am crying right now cz im literally so stressed writing it and feeling like it sucks😭 I’m pretty low in consciousness & high in neuroticism. I’m exhausted to say the least and am off to do something creative now to relax

Oh it's the worst. One has to be high in consciousness and low in neuroticism haha... (but I think people never choose to be so. They are just born like that) I'm just like you. At least I think I am.

1. Take many walks and extrovert. Great for creativity. 2. Journal about why it matters to you. To get the writing out. Where does it need to arrive? To whom? And is someone (person or personality type) standing in the way?

Some are writing about complicated topics . Some just want to make you think they are. Being a writer yourself will help you decide who’s doing what.

You care about your grade and then you kinda pretend to be interested in the topic - you find some interesting angle or something like that. What he says feels unrealistic, but good to aspire to.

There’s nothing unrealistic in what he says. He’s about as real as a person can get. That’s why he says “why bother thinking?” Yo have to answer that question for yourself.

As a freelance magazine writer, blogger, and former grant writer, I agree 💯! I only write about things I am passionate about - healthcare and wellness related topics that educate my community beyond the patients I see in my clinic. When I read magazine articles, I can readily determine which ones are written by a hack meeting a deadline who doesn't LIVE the topic.

One of the important skills parents need to teach children is how to THINK ! Children need to be able to ask why and then the parent and child can have a discussion on why they should or shouldn't do something.

I was floored to find out there are people with no inner monologue whatsoever. My brain doesn't ever stop, if there isn't an immediate problem to solve then it's working on future or persistent ones. It doesn't even stop when I sleep. I can continue to converse with parts of my brain or psyche during lucid dreams and they will answer my questions while I sleep. I'm just thinking what do these people have going on upstairs then? Is it just a dial tone?
