I’m probably going to publish more clips from this coaching session with Kris. If you don’t want to wait, you can get instant access to the full 4-hour session. More information in the video description. 👊🎱

Good way for an amateur go get personal instruction...you do the session with a student, put it online, I bring my laptop to the table and play along on each shot. This is great.

Hi Sharivari. I would like to ask, what are you using to mark the ball positions on a pool table?

More clips with Kris would be great. I love the points you make. Only thing i would mention, when practicing to get better on shots with spin, I may be wrong but I think it was you who mentioned once that when you were learning spin you shot EVERYTHING with spin. That’s where I’m at now, taking that advice. But of course, in practicing for tournament play, and in tournament play, I’m going to question myself any time my instinct is to shoot with spin if I need to, and use as a last resort.
@edtamboni47523 ай бұрын
I find this instruction really helpful...do this more often, have an amateur guy shoot racks and do the coaching...because the amateur shoots at the level I do (well, he's a bit better actually).

Nice one man. I was wondering when people come to train with you focus on fundamentals forst and then proceed further to stroking the ball and use of english etc, or do you just do whatever the student wants to do? Because I have a feeling your student hear could seriously benefit from first fixing his stance, his follow through, which is really tiny, and mainly staying down on the shot.
@Sharivari3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment! We actually worked on his fundamentals first, including the things you mentioned - follow through, and staying down on the shot. After that, we switched to focusing on strategic play. During strategy sessions, I don’t want to constantly remind students of technique mistakes, as it would distract from the strategy. But he will need to apply those fundamental fixes on his own in his personal training.
@skippydippydoo19773 ай бұрын
I've noticed your student is popping up a bit and really long final backstroke with an up down motion bring him off his contact point.. I only say that to see if you agree so I know if I'm getting better at noticing things like that for my own improvement.

Plan 3 balls ahead so every second ball you need to already plan the route. For example you are on the 2 ball and looking to get onto the 4 ball. That means you need to play certain shot for position on 3 in order to get natural for 4 ball. Same process on 3 ball for 4 onto 5 etc. Also will determine where and how to hit the white if you are conscious on route. Everyone can pot but planning the route is an art as well and sometimes planning an easier route will increase your chance to run out. Still need delayed shots, side, manipulate angles stun etc. Pros plan well especially on compressed racks and still run out so it’s about the planning and obviously practice. If the shot is too far keep it simple and all depends on angle you are shooting from in regard to how much side you use.

Your student needs to stay down and stay still through his follow through. Lots of body movement on his misses.
@Sharivari3 ай бұрын
Absolutely, we've addressed this during the session and have been working on it. However, breaking a habit like this takes time-it’s not something that changes in just a few hours, especially when we’re shifting focus to other aspects like strategy. In this part of our practice, I didn’t want to constantly remind Kris of his habits or criticize his technique. Doing so would have thrown his game off completely, making it difficult for him to even make shots. My goal was to let him concentrate solely on strategy, because if I overload him with too many corrections at once, it becomes confusing and overwhelming.
@cj-ef1rp3 ай бұрын
@@Sharivariyou are completely correct, and I’m sure if Kris watches this video, he will see himself failing to follow through. A perfect comparison is your shot on the 7 where you smoothly stroked and stayed dead still where he pops up a bit. We all make this mistake repeatedly. But for his practice session, he should try very hard to correct this as a fundamental so his strategy plays out to his ability. Great session, really good video. Keep it up, Kris, your game looks strong!

question, why inside english makes it more difficult? is outside english easier?
@udtojanpestillos20943 ай бұрын
Outside english is kinda better to judge. When i miss shots then mostly with inside english and not outside. And even when i have my last ball i sometimes intentionaly add outside english because i feel more comfortable to pot the ball. I observed that also at certain pro players. Like mostly professionalls play draw shot to the last nine ball because the feeling is just a better one. They play draw even draw is not needed.

We can play center on 7 ?
@Sharivari3 ай бұрын
You can also play center and get a decent position on the eight. I like high, because it will decrease cue elevation, and a trace of right spin will compensate for cut induced throw.

@@udtojanpestillos2094 highly doubt that, 300-400 Fargos can’t even break and run, maybe get one out every couple hundred racks, I wouldn’t consider that advanced lol, I’m a 500 and don’t consider myself advanced
