You can also bypass another property of decals, the color, you have to manually type them, but you can bypass (255, 255, 255) with something like (255555, 255555, 255555), which will produce a really weird effect for the decal.

For the negative transparency, I think it’s basically applying the texture multiple times. The texture is aliased, so its edges “fade” out, getting more transparent as it goes. But negative transparency makes everything not fully transparent less transparent, so that aliased edges get fully turned to complete visibility
@matulko5y3 ай бұрын
the reason the spawn location and some other textures look like that in the negatives is because they have something transparent in their decals, changing the value to something negative will start to make it visible.

@dunkedidklol2 ай бұрын
16:32 thats because even on the negatives, transparency continues to make everything more visible. so the fade of the texture becomes a completely solid color, making it look pretty distorted. the thing is, the default roblox face seems to not have any fade, so it doesnt change at all.

Rendering can get super interesting sometimes, some parts aren't so easy to understand but I'll try to explain what's going on. *Keep in mind this is based off visual speculation, personal experience, and some research so no it's not 100% accurate* 4:43 Contrast defines relative brightness, if the intensity is brought up, after going over middle contrast color values are more and more restricted to the nearest allowed value. Later on about the noisy effect, this is in just about all renders, mainly with lighting, it's easy to understand why with ray-tracing but Roblox doesn't exactly support that so it could do with how Roblox renders it's lighting. Render noise can be super subtle, very commonly unnoticeable. 5:30 And yes, saturation *multiplies* RGB channel hue, intern intensifying colors in a more vibrant fashion as opposed to Contrast's "posterizing" look. Basically the less saturation you put, the more equal the RGB values will be. 6:50 This proves my statement that adjusting a part's reflectance uses a sort of contrast to define reflect intensity. With inverted contrast, you'd expect inverted RGB channel relativity as shown here. 7:45 Inverting saturation inverts color intensity only, which results in only inverted "colors*, never inverted value. 12:00 This kind of proves my point right and wrong now seeing it again, but yea, the color and value are basically being intensified causing a similar effect to contrast. For negative reflectance, yes that was proven wrong, maybe I'm thinking something else. 13:10 This is easy to explain, the spawn point decal has an alpha channel allowing the image to be displayed with transparent pixels. What Roblox does to adjust the transparency amount to the whole image is by multiplying the image alpha channel with the ImageTransparency property, so when setting it under 0, it's multiplying the alpha channel even more, which seemingly removes the blurring of the image... 14:23 I can see the confusion of it "widening", again it's simply being multiplied, including the blurring, intern "un-transparenting" the blur, I can try to make a quick vid to demonstrate...? Again, none of this is 100% accurate, if you have any better explanations, feel free to share!

okay the reason because you CANT change the face's texture, is because it is a png inside your roblox folder. inside one folder in the roblox's is the face texture, which can be modified to have any kind of face you want, it will be also applied to other players. It is not a decal, it is a png inside of your local computer. You have to change the png to make it look different.
