yes select the trait and characteristics you desire for your stock loft. you want the create birds you can have similar expectations on how they develop into a mature spinner. if you have such a broad standard the birds will begin to get later and later to develop into the roll. we are always fighting off the birds reverting back to the wild type

If your flying kit of youngsters reaches 5months without them rolling properly and have sloppy rolls do you carry on with training them or get rid of them?

People say that you shouldn't go more than 3 rounds with breeding a pair how true is that or what are your beliefs on that ?

If you have a pair that "clicked" you should breed as many as possible out of it and whatch their young closely. Personaly, for many years, I've raised a minimum of 10 young from every pair I've bred. Then I could make a better evaluation of my pairs.

Man near me would only breed from roll downs!!! Any roll downs were put in a big shed and could pair up as they chose. His theory was that the deep roll is their and if the young could have more control you would get high ratio of deep active birds. It certainly worked because his kit was one of the best I ever saw! No rights in this game hey lol. Great vids.

What think I know and have experienced with birds is that breeding is experimental and that we all do things differently and the is no one way of doing things...

Yeah see this is it. His theory was that breed high ratio of deep rollers and cull back to the shallower and your left with a flyable kit of deep spinners. Against breeding the depth you desire and get shorter and deeper , so his theory is start with OVER roll and use the shallower. It’s hard to explain and I’m not saying he’s right but trust me his kit was unbelievable!!!
