Well, waves are mostly skill too. Waves always travel south by southeast so by traveling in that direction it makes cannon aim way easier. It’s just a matter of keeping track of direction

@@borgthepig well yea but some part of the map is more harsh then others so even if you do keep the direction waves are still going to be an problem.. especially if you go up an wave and the other ship goes down a wave.

this is a great video, and id like to make a suggestion that you follow up with some brig/galleon specific tips a lot of the pvp content on youtube focuses entirely on slooping, to the point that most people dont even tell you that dummysails on a brig is usually not good lol, and for this reason i would LOVE if you did a brig/galleon tips video, talking about all the small things that most people neglect

This is mainly cause on brig you have to have 3 people that know what they're doing and sloop/ solo sloop is more widely used. With a lower barrier to entry and the easiest boat to manage by yourself. Gally is only optimal with a crew that's at least a comp worthy crew in HG or you're getting rolled by every Gally that's in a league or ex-comp in HG. It would be great to have more videos for these but it's harder for the "broader audience" especially in HG for the "just getting into" and "beginners guide" because brig is such an odd child compared to Gally and sloop 😂

One thing if you shoot chains you want to shoot the same horizontal as your cannonballs if it lined up good.

Remember, the best way to get better at hourglass PvP is practice, solo sloop is hard but it teaches you the priorities and how to manage a hard situation and duo sloop is good if you have a good friend who can help you and teach you some situational tips for your role :)

Play the parts of the game you enjoy and get used to the game mechanics. Once you have the mechanics down start practicing PvP

I just made a classic noob error and didn't sell my loot often enough. Got chased by a Duo sloop who then sold my loot in front of me and sunk my ship. Woo.. part of the game I guess. Also Solo so all I can do is be crafty, and I'm too new to hold my own and defend my loot.. there goes a few hours of work because I'm a new.

When I'm solo I roll a d20 at the start of my session. Over 10 and I do hg, roll a d4 to decide how many fights I'll do then I'll do adventure.
