@@TheShafronChannel It happens all the time, and it helps you size your bet correctly. I need to know how much you have in your stack because the bet you call on the turn can determine whether you pretty much HAVE to call the river or if you can afford to lay it down, also whether you have me covered, can you afford to check raise etc and so on. It's not an angle and it's not rare, you'll hear it all night long at a poker table.

@@4betblind I used to pretend to be a new player. I'd accidentally move my chips wrong and play weird hands. I'd make weird bets. It was hilarious how angry people would get when I won. Which was pretty often. I cashed 14 days in a row once at low limit holdem. I haven't played in a long time. Of all the things that I could do that are fundamentally sound which is the weirdest? It was fun. People screamed at me and told me I didn't know how to play poker. Which is hilarious. If that is true why are you angry? I would move to the tables that had the worst players. I knew this guy was a fish. I moved to his left and played every hand that he played regardless of cards. I won a significant amount of money. I was very nice to him. :)

I don't actually keep track of that at the table but I play ridiculously tight in these games. $1k buy in is SMALL stakes?
@andy02q
@andy02q 6 ай бұрын
That's normal small stakes offline Poker size. 400$ is often the minimum buy-in, but then you're small stack in addition to small stakes. You could go online Poker or small private venues where the blinds go as low as 1C/2C with 4$ min. buy-in, but you won't find that in a casino. The lowest I've ever seen in a casino is 1$/2$ with 200$ min. buy in.

quick note, this looks more like a smaller $1-2 game, not a casino type of a game. at a casino, $1-2 game usually plays limpy and with lower raises and bets. so in a game like this, where players raise to $25 and bet $100 on the flop, everyone is going to either fold against you preflop or trap you with a good hand. But i do agree that once you're at the flop its relatively easy to take pots by betting a lot at a limper table, although not sure how long that would work.

Thought this was really entertaining. I don't really watch a lot of poker, nor do I play, but I do recall hearing that playing with people who don't know how to play very well throws most strategies you use at high tables out the window. It seems though you have found other ways to get information without using those strategies, or to make people feel a certain way when you can't read them. Overall super interesting and funny video for low stakes games.

Honestly, on last hand, villain had a great bluffing hand. He had Ace of clubs, blocking nut flush, and also had a 7, blocking 67 and J7 straights, but yeah, great read otherwise though. GG.
@Badbentham
@Badbentham Жыл бұрын
As I see it, the issue is two-fold: First, Villain may often bet sets, a 9 or better, and the NFD, on the Flop when in position. So, he may actually prefer another Spade to bluff with. While Hero likely did not make a Flush on the Turn after checking twice, either. Second, Villain would love to see that Hero peeled on the Turn with the As himself : Increases the fold equity of his bluff by a fair margin. - Villain should probably either say that he can not represent a lot and just realize his equity on the Turn, instead of "sensing weakness " . Or, give up the River with some minimal SD value that he still has. But, granted: He was also unlucky that Hero had a read on him, because he gave a timing tell.
