Maybe she said it and I missed but I find my clients run into issues when they don’t give their skincare enough time to absorb before going into foundation! Also patting the skin with a tissue to pick up any exorbitant moisture right before foundation is helpful!

The sponsorship is irrelevant because they've been saying exactly the same things in past unsponsored videos consistently. Tip: most primers are made of some type of silicone, like dimeticone. But cosmetically elegant sunscreens often have dimeticone too so they can work as primers as well. The only time I would pick a primer before moisturizer is if you have oily skin and need a mattifyigng one. Then yes, a primer is worth it.

@@vmsingh8 They could also negotiate in the contract to be able to speak about other brands. That would work if you do it the evening before/consistently in your routine. Consistent exfoliation has definately made my makeup look better on the skin. @Juliyakay3 жыл бұрын
I don't wear foundation. My face makeup is just tarte shape tape concealer and the Laura Mercier powder. Within a few hours the makeup starts to clump together under my eyes, between my eyes, and cheekbones. Mind you, I have dry flakey skin so my routine in the morning focuses on hydration and moisture (but not too much because then I will look oily). My skincare in the AM is just an essence, vitamin C (naturiums currently), and a moisturizer (honest beauty hydrogel cream, and sunscreen. I have tried so many variations with my sunscreen too and they ALL look terrible under makeup. All the way from Elta MD, to Drmtlgy, to Black girl sunscreen. I've just accepted that my concealer and powder will cake up in several hours and this is my life haha. PS- I wait at least 10 minutes before makeup application to make sure my skincare has time to set first.

What exactly does Nikki mean by using moisturizer as primer? Just no primer after sunscreen or another layer of moisturizer after sunscreen?
@Ashley-jv8vj3 жыл бұрын
She probably doesn't wear sunscreen on a daily basis. Yea, they totally forgot to talk about that. Honestly, I don't bother with sunscreen when I'm wearing makeup, because why do it anyway if you have to reapply throughout the day. You almost have to get a setting spray or mineral powder to do so. I think it's pointless. But of course people would say that's terrible. I can't stand sunscreen, so shiny and it breaks me out.
@pt30333 жыл бұрын
It means that the skin is hydrated and moisturized enough that you don't need to use primer. In Susan's case she relies on her skincare to give her the glowy, bouncy, youthful glow so she doesn't feel the need to use primer. Sunscreen is put on after moisturizer and before primer if you choose to use it.

@princesssweetpea92053 жыл бұрын
I am NO expert at all!!! But I do know that if you have skin that is on the oily side, that doing too much that is drying to try to counter that can backfire. Your skin thinks it needs more oil/moisture. Moisture is not oil. There are good products today that can be smooth and moisturizing without being oily. Once your skin adjust to that change in skin care, that might just possibly help????

PRINCESS SWEETPEA I totally understand what you’re saying! I’m in esthetician school and still learning but I do moisturize and have my whole skincare routine but I do that at night. I guess I was just hoping for them to talk more about those with oily skin and the possible effects that a routine like this can have. They just said oh if you’re oily do this and use a matte foundation or powder.

Farah Khurram I’m glad you’ve found something that works! @Dr__Feelgood3 жыл бұрын
@@feliciahilaski7677 Lmao, oh the nerve!! But as expected, hook, line and sinker. Let me give you an advice that you badly need. Never try to presume you know better than and can lecture someone who actually majored in Biology in college and is now an MD and so actually studied Genetics, Pharmacology, etc that you very evidently know NOTHING about. Especially when you've never even heard of Genomics and "think" computer modeling can mimic biological studies and be 100% trustworthy in predicting the LD50, ED50 and unknown effects including potentially serious ones that could lead to death. Why bother with any clinical and human studies at all then?! You people are the most IRONICALLY and pathetically arrogant ignoramuses who do not know any science and ethics. When I say ethics, I mean serious Ethics and Philosophy. I doubt you've even heard of Kant and Deontology and Utilitarianism and Stuart-Mill if you don't even know anything that has to do with what you "think" you already got down pat without any doubt and that all debate on it has already been settled. There is NOTHING pharmaceutical that you're taking in and putting on your skin that has at least some ingredients that have not been tested on animals at the very least. Think about that everytime you apply your RETINOL, ACIDS, SUNSCREENS and even your HYDROCORTISONE CREAM. And next time, try to use Google first so you can at least pretend to know what you're talking about. The fact that you didn't even have any doubt about your ability to be wrong is precisely what's wrong with you. I smelled it right away from that first comment alone and it stunk like a decomposing rat that died from not recognizing poison because not testing them on mice first made it feel "good and superior" over others who did. Granted, it never actually studied Genetics and Pharmacology either but that "non-virtue-signalling" made it feel "high and mighty" without any merit and at no apparent cost anyway. And to the rat, that's all that mattered.
