TLDR: Online SF and Offline SF are 2 completely games AT A HIGH LEVEL, to get high ranks you need fundamentals that apply to both games, but at a certain point online becomes a different game.
@valueduser27463 жыл бұрын
I realized rank isn’t my thing when anyone can play at their personal level thru casual matches (beyond rank indication). Rank just creates an “experience window” to compare among the total player count/exp points. The “thousands and thousands” is immersion-based. If I’m more casual, committing to ranked is difficult to do when inconsistently playing/accessing the game.

I think playing higher level players than yourself occasionally is good for your development as a player, if you have the right mindset you can look at what these players are doing against you and learn from it, its also a good reality check to cement that theres still more to learn and improve upon (and curb egos to an extent)

All these kind people saying hi KZbin, thought I'd say, Hi Twitch! I feel like this is still accurate to someone like me who has only just reached bronze (context specific, obviously). I feel like I have the necassery skills to get out of bronze, and that process is more of a time investment rather than a showing of my ability to improve as a player. Maybe I do deserve to get stuck in bronze, idk. But from where I'm standing, it doesn't like as much like a mountain as it does a park, and I just need to walk it.

This is one of the reasons I gave up ranked League of Legends. At lower ranks, matchmaking is such a dice roll that the actual key to climbing is to just be consistent yourself and eventually after enough grinding you will rank up. Eventually my delusions of one day being a top player wore off, and I decided the grind was pointless. I just started playing casual matches to have fun and my experience improved tremendously
Big facts deep, Brian lead us to the promised lands

He has addressed this before. Higher ranked players take less risks and play safe/play to the level needed to win. So while it might seem you "do better" against them, it's just because they are not taking huge risks and going all out, they play safe. If you were actually winning more against them, you would be ranked with them. The reason lower level players can beat you is because you don't have the basics down, can't defend against their tricks, tricks that don't work at higher levels. No offense, this is just what he said in the other video about rank. Higher rank, consistent safe play, lower ranks unga bunga aggro play.

Allowing diamond players to match against every single rank upwards is the only redeeming feature of CFN. When I hit diamond and started getting matched to ProblemX, Phenom, Takamura (its rare but he does play ranked when there is a major patch, probably to gain experience fast), Infexious..... its awesome. I learn a lot from playing them, and I think I do better now vs the 1st time I got matched to them.

The bottle neck at the top end is going to happem in every ranking system. I see it with age of empires 2 ladder with pros. The top 20 or so players in the world have to wait a long time to find a match before they end up playing someone who is ranked far below them. If they lose they lose a ton of points. If they win they sometimes get 0 points.

Fix CFN and I'll be more motivated to grind. Idk I'm constantly worried about dropping my inputs or not having confidence in my reads CFN puts an extra layer of stress that I'm not focusing on how I should be playing. A lot of it has to do with mental fortitude been grinding for a couple years now it's starts to feel a bit pointless. I try to justify it with me feeling better about the whole process once I get the results I want but I don't even think that's possible
