when you said something like "your hair cannot hold a style for 3 weeks. Don't have unrealistic expectations. Healthy hair reverts back to its natural self. Your hair will hold your retwist for 2 weeks, as it should. That is okay. Put health over style" that really opened my eyes. I really feel like I learned something. I haven't been doing anything crazy with my dreads at all, but I've mentally been having excessively high, unrealistic wishes and expectations. You right, Damian. You right.

Glad you said this , I got coils a week ago , they’re all frizzy now, I don’t touch my hair spray some light oil on it and go. My bf keeps asking why it’s frizzy, shouldn’t I be twisting it why doesn’t it look neat like the first day. I just keep telling him it’s a journey and I’m enjoying every phase!

And have a realistic expectation. I was under the impression the coils had to stay for the entire 3-4 weeks so that my hair could lock but if it wasn't locking then i was just walking around with dirty scalp for no reason when i could be washing. but again this just came when I needed it to. I appreciate this video . palm rolling it is. patience it is. letting my hair be great so i can continue to be great.

@tiffanycollins11735 жыл бұрын
@@notmebutyou8350 I still have some hair sticking out of my locs after 9 years. I think this is normal. I just call them my fuzzies. When I get my retwist, my loctician palm rolls the whole loc, so after a while they become part of the loc. I follow Yannie the Locologist. She teaches to embrace your fuzzies. Whatever you do, do not cut the fuzzies off and dnt let anyone else cut them. Some people do that and dnt realize that overtime pruning leads to thinning. Good luck on your journey.

I love your videos you give out priceless information about how to care for our locs. I'm 18 months into my loc journey and I tell you it was trial and error for me, I started my own locs using the two strand twist method and my biggest issue was my retwist not staying. After watching your videos as well as Yonnie the only locologist, I have gained a wealth of knowledge. I'm super tender headed so when I twist my hair I just leave it alone!! No styles, no ponytail, no nothing just hanging out resting. I don't use gels and such just aloe vera straight from the plant and a mixture of light oils, nothing with castor oil because I'm allergic to it, and I the my hair with a silk or satin scarf and that's it. I'm learning less is more when dealing with my locs. So please keep those videos coming I truly appreciate your expertise in the natural hair/loc areas. Peace and many blessings to you 🤗 🤗
