But I don't know if its right to ask but all youtubers/filmmakers tell us about how to make money but nobody tells us how to make/receive payments as they are travelling thru different countries with different currencies. what payment method should we choose? i agree, having a website is a plus BUT it's not a 'have it or die' type of scenario. per example: i'm a webdeveloper, 23 years of experience, got a website for the first 5 years (1997 to 2002) and now i use it only for my emails... I'm already working 60hr/week (1day off), clients and making enough money without having a website for it. So again, yes it's good, but don't be crazy about it.

I think you should have both! The advantage of having the text is not only SEO, but it gives people the opportunity to scan. It's harder to skim a video so they may not play it at all.
