The 'Casa Particulares" network all over the entire country is the way to go for good accommodation . I stayed in Casa's in Havana , Vinales , Cienfuegos , Trinidad , Camaguey , Santiago , Puerto Padre , Santa Clara and Santa Marta and was wonderful to get to live with and get to know the local people , i'm still in touch with some of them and will visit again one day . Also the ' Jinetera's & Jinetero's" or female & male "hustlers" ( prostitution is not officially illegal BTW ) are everywhere and will approach you no problem , be street smart and treat them with respect and you'll have a great time with them their friends and their family .

Sex work is technically legal in Cuba. Laws against 'prostitution' were removed in 1976 amidst claims that prostitution had been eradicated from Cuba. There are however other laws that target sex workers. For example loitering and soliciting can be seen as anti-social conduct, which is criminal. I can promise you this much you do not want to get caught in Cuba with a prostitute try it if you want to but it's not going to end very well for you

Ah yes now that you mention the loitering soliciting etc that rings a bell which i remember thinking was a bit ironic at the time as it seemed like half the population of Havana hung out on the streets of an evening . Having never paid anyone for sex in my life i'm not in any danger of arrest anywhere , i'll hang out with folk that do sex work but much the same as hanging out with friends that work in offices , banks , shops , restaurants etc etc , i'm not there for their work services , i'm there for the banter and the carry on not to judge, everyone is human after all is said and done . Mark . I'm sorry I did not get to show you the place i rented for me and my girl . It was nice and the lady went down to $20 a night if I took it for a week at a time. Your place was nice but a bit of a walk . Remember we took it . Yes . Going up to your place was hard . I did not like the cage . Water view . Lol

Mark . You know i had a good time ! Lots of debauchery . Lol . Yes . My 4 star hotel tried to shake me down for $30 to have a girl in my room but this was after i had already had 2 the first week . Havana is perfect for a single man . 😂

"On the books companion"... How polite. 😆 Great $20/night score. I have an ABnB booked on Samui for about 10 days but the host hasn't responded to a couple messages I sent. I'm a bit leery but can free cancel up until a couple days before. I may cancel and rebook elsewhere. I just don't want to have to deal with any sort of dispute. 🤷

Never do ABNB on Samui or Phuket. It's impossible to tell who's honorable and who's not. I literally had to just arrive and look around for rent signs and talk to locals. That's the best way for amazing deals that u can trust. Before I left Samui, I was paying 8,000 baht/month for a large apt.

YES,Sir Been to Cuba many time,Up to including my Daughter wich she was born in a city just out side Havana and we share the same birthday ,but it was great times,My daughter is in the states now,Thank God.I take Thailand over Havana,I recommend Varadero in Matanza its spending and plenty of bug juice and its crowded now ,Good luck Sir..

Why hello there Dr. Marc Sabina…… you got a hell of a deal there with your Airbnb apartment. It’s all you need when you’re traveling for sure. If you have a really really nice apartment or room you are go to hang out there instead of going outside and meeting the natives and doing other things… In regards to the window air conditioning…… To lessen the noise level while you’re sleeping and also having the cold windy air right on your body, take a piece of cardboard and make it into a V and place it about a foot away from the air conditioner. With this DIY The noise will be less along with less of a chilly wind. Looking at the condition of the buildings and the living standards for the peeps it’s easy to conclude that the communist experiment has been a failure. Maybe that’s the reason there were so many assassination attempts on Castro… Really…… I can’t remember the exact number but it was in the hundreds and hundreds. Is there still a Copacabana nightclub in Cuba? Like to see you tour a cigar factory. And also for an adventure you could rent a rowboat and visit Key West Florida for the afternoon.
