WOW!!! I have not been there since the mid 1980's and not much has changed. My dad would take us kids on 3 week camping trips, only allowed to stay 21 days and had to be gone 7 if you wanted to stay again. Witnessed several people fall trying to climb the cliffs, one dude shattered his left leg trying to get to a koozie someone had left at the top. The fire department had a hell of a time getting to him and getting him out on a stretcher. Now I'm 60 years old living in west central Florida. There are no parks here that compare to High Cliff.

The WI state parks are good about keeping to their original vision - not much changes it feels, but I can consider that a plus. Yikes hearing about those people falling - but not surprising. Off and on, we would hear about similar stuff out there on the news still. West Central Florida? I have spent some time in Fort Myers area, but I think that is considered more southwest part of the state. The state parks I visited there definitely did not have the same feeling of support that they do in Wisconsin. Still very much enjoyed them though. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I am looking forward to climbing the new Eagle Tower. I drove under it a month before it opened, but have been having issues finding time to get back up to Door County to visit Penn Park. I will get there though.

Excellent! You will be real close to the escarpment and the Red Bird Trail. You’ll have the chance to take some beautiful walks, bikes, hikes - up on the cliff, or down the cliff to the water. Let us know how your experience is!

What is a best flat camp site for 24 ft trailer with electric.
@getoutntravel61623 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, this is t my strong suit - but I poked around the internet to look for any information and got a good impression from campground reviews [dot] com. It sounds like most of the sites are leveled well enough and should be big enough for your trailer (some reviews mentioned having larger and not having an issue). Campsites with electric are designated with an “E” along with the number. Like 53E-60E or 76E-82E or 99E-112E (with a few others in between). All the sites are within walking distance of the Red Bird Trail which is on the escarpment. Showers and bathrooms seem centrally located. It was nice when I walked though the sites on my last visit. Happy camping when you get out there!

Great video! Loving your edits lately. This style is what makes me smile and what makes yourube fun. Not the pretentious stuff I see to much nowdays - the “cinematic broll” videos that look like a car commercial... yuck! Those lime chimneys look pretty epic hey - very cool although I have no idea what lime does 😅. Nice trails too. Thanks for sharing 👌✌️

Thanks for the nice comments! The Lime kilns are pretty interesting. The line was used in plaster and cement - it was also spread on farm fields to reduce the acidity of the soil. The lesser quality stuff was made into brick motor - and even the lesser quality rock (with all those pesky fossils in it) was simply crushed into gravel. I love doing trails at parks. I have a special place in my heart for the state park system - and that will most likely come up in a few episodes. Thanks for supporting us and our little channel!
