Fun fact: as far as I can tell based on the (now fragmentary) internet records, the term "Smash Captain" is in fact a polite version of the original, much ruder name, "Captain Smashfucker"

I recently used the rounded corners of an RTB01 sprue to add the curved exhaust ports you'd find on an RT era Rhino to a 10-15yr old ebay rescue. Looks a bit goofy tbh but perfect for the firstborn tac squad it is intended for.

One thing I can't do is collect an army for 40k of miniatures that are nearly as old as I am since 40k came out when I was at school. However, I do still have my army from that time and it's *entirely* made from two RTB01 boxes so I am here from the past to tell you that converting them into characters is completely era-appropriate. Also, you've done a cracking job there so - regardless of anything else - the ends justify the means 👍

Making a 40K army with figures that are almost as old as I am would be problematic in that my birth predates the formation of TSR by over a decade. Though I would enjoy hearing your suggestions on creating a space marine chapter using Napoleonic figures.

Reminds me of when I De-Chaosified a Raptors Jump pack during Kill Team 2018 to build a Melee Leader for my Space Marine team (Who in KT 2021 is MIA as You can't have Jump packs) My Team Memoirs Of Isstvan are 20 Loyalist Survivors of Isstvan III who find themselves through warp shenanigans in M41 beseiged on all sides by both Chaos and the Empire. The empire believeing them chaos and Chaos wanting to kill them for being who they are. Them only wanting to kill their brothers who tried to purge them. I have 5 each Luna Wolves, World Eaters, Emperors Children, and Deah Guard all in Mark III armour. The man in question is World Eaters Captain Vincenzo Cattanaeo with his Jump pack and his two Personal Chainswords Husq and Varna. In Kt2021 He and Jan Kavari (Luna Wolves Brother with Storm Shield and Bolter) are MIA as they don't have rules in the new system even within the compendium Deathwatch team I run the team as. And leadership of the team has moved from Vincenzo to Farzan Darvish of the Luna Wolves armed with Logan's FIngers, and a bolt pistol and Henri Julien of the Emperors Children with Emperors Fury and Emperors Might (Xenophase Blade and Storm Shield) imgur.com/a/bwMxVws is Images of the team. You may notice only 2 minis (outside of normal bolter guys) have the same gear. Farzan, and Franz Schultz of the world eaters who is armed with Fredrick's claw and a bolt pistol.

Thank you, and to answer your question: there was a convenient slot to put it in there so I didn't have to make a new attachment point, plus it would have been much more awkward to bend the string into a natural shape from that angle. I headcanon the cabling is stretchy to allow for bigger swings hah
