Personally, I like spaghetti. Complete with meatballs, naturally.

You know what guys, gotta disagree. I think the part in the codex about Yarrick liking Rotini Pasta is spot on. Only an ork would like Farfalle

I think my favourite bit of lore from this codex is the ToE of a garrison regiment, I think at the back of the book. It is the remains of a mauled regiment plus additional bits of other decimated regiments forming something roughly a reinforced battalion in strength, though *very* short in some heavier weapons (and only one platoon strength unit has any plasma guns). However, this is a garrison *for an entire star system*. Like, obviously it seems like was meant to be a relatively sparsely populated system, but it also hints at the whole fact that the modern presentation of 40k, which often focusses on vast armies fighting on hive worlds and the like, back in 3rd edition that was kind of meant to be the *exception*. Armageddon, for example, was meant to be an unusually large conflict. Most conflicts in 40k were meant to on a much smaller scale, which gels with the earlier presentation in 1st edition as well.

A Red Dwarf refrence in my Codex Compliance? It's more likely then you'd think.

When this codex was out 25 years ago it was the only time I ever saw an all infantry 2000 point Imperial Guard army. It took forever for the guy to pull out all his miniatures. I'm also pretty sure when it came to a miniatures count it was the biggest 2000 point 40k army I had ever seen fully painted.

The next version had the supplementary rules for building you own regiment, not just visually, but rules-ually. It was peak.

I know the basic answer is "lasagna," but I'm going to be even more Basic American and say I love a good alfredo sauce on tortellini or fettuccini, tossed with grilled chicken and broccoli. * Salutes, Salutes the other way, Salutes the best way *

It's sad seeing these regiments listed (which I still remember when I played 3rd) and realizing they are almost all gone. Meanwhile every marine chapter and their mother has their own codex and special minis.

So I think "doesn't rotate" just means "tidally locked" aka one side always faces the sun. So yeah, permanent night on one side.

Angel hair is the best every day pasta, it cooks fast, and has a greater sauce absorbing ability because of the higher noodle count per gram. All around just a good buy.

To the very important question about rotation of the world of Mordia, it's a it depends of your frame of reference question. Within its solar system, yes double rotating. As a person on Mordia, sort of.

Having read the 5th and 7th edition Guard codexs (I started in 8th but love picking up the older books too) it's always a fun read between the down to Earth (All Quiet of the Western Front style) prose of mortal men at war in this setting, and those cool older metal models, slowly been picking some up for myself. Glory to the 195th Solomus Mechanized Grenadiers! I like Macaroni.

The thing about Guard players like me is that some of us just build tanks when we're bored. Got no projects? Maybe I'll finally pick up a Hellhound, or build a Russ as a Punisher, or get a third Dorn. Heck, sometimes when the 3D printer isn't doing anything else I just browse Russ/Dorn alternatives online and make a new one. The veteran squad having no official models is a cool idea. I only started playing Guard in 5th edition, where you could take the normal amount of veterans, and everyone just used normal Guard Infantry to represent them (largely because it was cheaper in both points and especially cash than running platoons!).
