Alex, Wave in a Wiccan deck is not just a failsafe. You can play her and a 4 drop on turn 5 (possibly Nick Fury) and then you can play 2 6-costs on turn six.

Alex makes a good point. Wiccan, along with cards like Pixie and Mr. Negative is building decks around them in a game with this type of RNG is difficult because you not only have to draw into them, but you have to draw into them by a specific time for the card to be useful. Some of these cards become a bit stronger when they're paired with shells/syngergies that compliment them like the Negative Surfer, Loki/Arishem or Thena/Angela Move decks. Cards like Wiccan that almost demand a deck be built around its strategy will struggle to be competitive unless they have a deck or alternate win-con that lifts them up.

While Wiccan seems good on paper, I'm not sure how useful he'll be since you HAVE to spend all your energy so if you have even 1 you're screwed, and he's a 4 cost, so on turn 5 you could play a 6 cost and a 1 cost, or a 4 and a 3, unless you have Psylocke and can play him early

I don't understand Havoc because I thought he would be like reverse Electro and just give you -1 energy so you'd have 4 on turn 5 for example, but it seems to stack which makes no sense to me and that's why he isn't played. It should be -1 energy (or -2 at most) instead of stacking and jjst give him less overall energy gain in return

I don't know why people arent talking about Arishem with Wiccan. You could have Wiccan out on turn 3 and have 7 energy on turn 4, 8 on 5 and 9 on 6

But you would have to spend two energy on T1 and three on T2, which is not guaranteed, in order to get Wiccan's effect, and Arishem often has a hard time keeping their hand full, so is having two extra energy on top of the extra energy at the beginning of the game actually worth it in the end?

Ramping to T3 Wiccan is a trap. Stick him in a Loki shell with mostly 1,2,3 cost plays + hand gen. Drop Wiccan T4 and then drop your whole hand - late game multi-lane power drops are super hard to plan for. When we start talking about Domino, Quicksilver, and Zabu…this is all hopium. But it doesn’t mean that Wiccan won’t be good - he very well may be good in some other shells that aren’t reliant on him hitting every game. I'd say I want Wiccan because if You have quick silver and domino, and a couple of 3- cost cards, that feat seems quite simple to achieve, and also if you had Speed both could game power of you playing all your energy in a game. Arishem is the best ramp card. I realize it's a different playstyle than Electro/Wave, but it is still the ramp card to beat. Move works best as a small package. Iron Fist, Spider-Gwen, and Dagger on turn 6 feasts on Zoo. The additional utility of getting other cards into unplayable locations makes this one of my favorite packages.

You know next weeks Jeff's League will have the Jeff emote as the exclusive for the top 3, AND they said that future leagues after Deadpool will have the opportunity to purchase cube boosters with gold. Disaster waiting to happen

With Quick Silver & Domino in a Deck, you'll have a 50% chance to pull Wiccan by Turn 4. You retreat if no Wiccan by Turn 4 (half the time), but the other times you snap with Wiccan & Surfer in hand. This is very much like the Negative+Jane Deck which relies on two combo cards in hand to go off; boom or bust, but maybe not as obvious of an advantage to the opponent in the Wiccan Surfer case (since clinching Surfer is in hand on Turn 6, while Jane is on revealed on Turn 5)

Something I'm planning on trying with Wiccan is Havok. Perfect scenario is if you get the Wiccan play on turn 4, you play Havok and a 5-cost (Let's say Devil Dino because I love him) on turn 5, and on turn 6 Havok becomes an 8-power and you still have 7 energy to do whatever you want with. Also I just got the Flaviano variant of Havok which is honestly one of my new favourite card arts in this game so I really want to be able to use him because of that.

the problem i see is this: you get 7 Energy on turn 5 and 8 energy on turn 6. So the 6 drops actually 'lose' you, 3 Energy of the 4 Energy wiccan created. Hence, going heavy 3 and 4 Drops, could be more cost effective. However, most 6 drops are game defining.

I think Domino goes in one flavor of Wiccan decks: Surfer. Quicksilver, Domino, and 5-6 3-costs gives you Wiccan around 50% of the time. You can bump it to ~54% if Crystal is one of your 3’s.

Wiccan decks are going to look fantastic. Cards like Nico, Sunspot, Kitty are going to fit well in there for consuming that extra energy. I could even see a brand new High Evo where you use Wiccan instead of Magic. 8 energy on 6 guarantees a lot. Or Ajax into Hazmat on 6 becomes possible. And that's just a tiny thing. You can use Hope to play Ajax, Mystique, and Hazmat. Wiccan is akin to Hope where Corvus was like Electro for Discard. Youre giving yourself possibilities if all aligns right. Is hope still better? Yes.

In his 3rd and final attempts to gold, at 2.38m, the New Zealand did that fake jump to try and convince the american to accept a tie (the american had already had failed trice and both were tied in everything). The organization proposed a tie for both. No deal, the american declined, so they kept jumping until one succeed and the other failed. The bar had to be lowered twice, for 2.36m and them 2.34m, after 11 attempts with no success for both. The american failed, but the New Zealand succeeded. He even did ANOTHER jump back up at 2.36m, even with the gold already ensured, just to higher up his score 😁

I didn't have any issues with Leagues. I ended in 2nd place, playing more than usual, but not obsessively. I was trying to hit Infinite anyway, so the efforts went in tandem. Maybe it was that nobody in my league was attempting to game the system? I knew that it would be a grind-fest as the best way to get points were wins, meaning the more games you play, the more point you gain, even if you retreat often.

Susprised that alliances didn’t come up in the last segment. Cause I think there’s a lot to still discuss about them. Maybe it’s a bit tough since experiences are going to vary wildly, but for me the novelty of daily missions on roids is already starting to wear off.

I feel like the Leech change was made for wiccan. Or at least im assuming people will want to play alot of 6 cost cards with him.

I think they should add Card Packs into the game. Make it somewhat easier to access cards and allow people to get started faster. Obviously with different rates of cards and if you get repeated cards that you already have, you get boosters for that cards. Once you have collected all cards of a certain series, then you can start getting different variants etc etc,.

I tried to build a deck where you, at turn 5 play Wave and War Machine, into Infinaut+Giganto. But I'm sure there are better plays. Especially if you got Odin. Maybe Wave+Shuri, into BBEG+Taskmaster

Super Skrull has been my mvp this week. I threw him in my affliction deck where I also have USAgent and they just ate the mess out of opponents decks. Zoo players crying. Tribunal players emoting what just happened. Aww. Good times. Perfect time for Deadpool emote.

For next week’s mail bag: It’s really annoying how everyone is going to get the Deadpool emote from leagues just because some people were win trading.
