Nice job. Colin Hay does a nice version too. Interesting story is that Webb sent Glen C. a tape with a half written version on it. When Glen told he 'd recorded it and it was being released, Webb said "Glen, it wasn't finished!" Glen's reply: "It is now."

Just came across this (I know it's from 4 years ago). Fantastic version and tutorial, including the chord boxes in the description! As you allude to in the video, it's always been a tricky song to get to grips with, since there are many different versions, even by Glen Campbell himself (I was lucky enough to see him play it live). Thank you for putting this together. 😎

The chords on this song are so beautiful they give me goose bumps. Thank you Simon, this has put in perspective my dislike of 95% of modern music. I watched "Hi Ren" by an artist called Ren... it gave me a bit of hope knowing that the talent is still out there. Again thank you.

Not that you need my approval, but this is really good. I just learned this song myself 3 months ago but starting with CM7 to FM7 and the "searching in the sun" bit using a Am-Em-D-Asus4-A progression. I need to transpose, one of these days; I was pretty happy just learning it this way. Nice job. The singing is good too. Thank you.

What are the two chord names that follow the Cadd 9 that lead into the lyrics "I HEAR YOU SINGING IN THE WIRES, I CAN HEAR YOU THROUGH THE WHINE"? Great job BTW .
@simonleslie36073 жыл бұрын
Hi Gregory. That’s a very good question. The first following Cadd9 would be Em7 albeit I’m only playing the 5th string not the 4th too. The next chord I am unsure of the name but only the 5th string is moved one fret in. Sorry I’m rubbish with chord names. Glad you enjoy the song

One last thing, is the little, what is the little walk up on the A and D string you do after "Overload"? I thought I was seeing it as A, B, D, A. Could you elaborate on this detail. Thanks, gb
@simonleslie36073 жыл бұрын
@@Texas1836Band I hammer once on the A string second fret and leave my finger down. Then pick strings D A then D. Then onto the D chord. Make sense? Good luck. I still love playing this song
