when the guitar kicks in at 0:57 i just want to sit and cry and think about all of the hard times i went through during my middle school-high school years.. like it's sad but gives me hope at the same time.

My soul somehow wants that third, “Yes, I am picking cherries, I have a hard time getting clean!” to be even more intense.

When i was in highschool i would always ignore girls i liked or who liked me to gain their attention and it always worked but i was always to scared to stop ignoring them and make myself vulnerable and open up a conversation or even acknowledge them so eventually graduation came and i missed all the opportunities i had to be with any of them. Now all i have are the memories of them giving attention and I have constant regret over all if the possible relationships and chances at finding happiness with another person and it makes me really sad. Highschool romance is different than any other time in ones life because everyone is so immature and it leaves room for awkwardness and it us much more special and exciting that way. I missed out on all of that because of how pussy i was. This song makes me feel all the regret and shame i have about highschool

dwade22100 I feel your regret buddy. The best thing to do is embrace who you are now and become the best version of yourself. Accept what has happened and find love where you are. We have a tendency to crave the past and wish for things that aren’t relevant to us anymore. Find new ways to embrace the innocence and idealized concept of young love by finding a soul who likes you how you are! Everything will be okay, idk how old you are but I’m sure you’re still plenty young to find love and find happiness. Believe in yourself pal

@@nevereverstopsinging Agreed, I've always found myself down in some situations but this song always somehow lifts me up. Don't worry the peak of your life is still to come and you can achieve amazing things. Never worry about the past and only look onwards!

I was cherry picking I was cherry picking dreams I was cherry picking, did you ever think of me You were hot and heavy You were hesitant it seemed When I'm cherry picking I always know you're gonna leave This love has turn to strangers Everyone always has to go Jane she was a dancer She danced in the afterglow And when it all is over When you are there and I am here I'll pretend that you cared That I have somehow disappeared It will make me feel better Knowing you watch me like the moon Truth is that I am working For myself and only me Yes I am picking cherries I have a hard time staying clean Yes I am picking cherries I have a hard time staying clean Yes I am picking cherries I have a hard time staying clean

People have always talked down on their songwriting skills; call it simple like it’s a bad thing- but maaan, 0:59 is so heartfelt and nostalgic. Their music is beautiful and it gets better with age.
@darrenersch84045 ай бұрын
Agreed, a third "may" give it more breadth, but skinny music is beautiful, I saw this in a movie and instantly googled it. Being a musician myself, that's a magnificent achievement. The song stands up beautifully. Picking cherries, hard time staying clean. Totally relate. ☮️
