I loved how this book portrayed the ugly parts of our real world through the character of Elphaba ad through the magical things

Wicked has been my favorite musical and is what got me into musicals 17 years ago. It was in Denver this past month so I went to see and noticed the political themes and discrimination. I have heard and known about the book but never have read because of being told how different it is from the musical. I also heard how graphic parts are too. Also heard from people it was a hard read. But I’m glad I never read it in junior high or high school because I was warned about how different the book is and it’s not family friendly. But having seen the musical recently, I was curious on differences between the book and musical and seeing if it’s something I’d want to try to read, knowing how different it’ll be from the musical and how r rated the book would be. Especially considering the themes. I may give it a try but not sure if I can handle reading certain parts. I think you not seeing the musical helped to hear a balanced review on the book.

Actually mother yackle is the completely opposite of what you think she is. It’s all I’m going to say.

What mother yackle is is so….. up in the air. I’m not at that part of the vid yet but I needed to say that. Her origins are explained but it did nothing for me😭love her tho.
