Ordered the Low angle adapter to go on my Go Deluxe pack. The $75.00 adapter requires a different sized hex wrench which was not included, and came with a set of instructions for --- Leather Strops with Diamond Emulsion. While I like the sharpener, this lack of attention to detail makes me wonder what else they cut corners on.

jesus christ. you would think it would at least include a top of line angle finder since the markings are no longer even in the ballpark.

@@dirtrider88 I believe they do now according to their website.

Would this work with lockback knives like a Case? Or, would they still be too short from spine to edge to get a lower angle?

Let me add that I'm stunned that for what these systems cost a customer still needs to spend another $75 for an adapter to sharpen small knifes. I'll never understand how anyone can think that's acceptable for a supposed High End sharping system.

I have the old pro pack II, would the arms be long enough to use this? They look bigger than mine

Ady King the arms on your Pro-Pack II will work if you’re sharpening blades up to 6” with the Low Angle Adapter. If you’ll be sharpening knives over 6” then I recommend picking up some longer rods. 10” and 12” rods are available for $25/pair.

THATS what costs SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS???? thats BS. it appears it doesnt even come with a angle finder. really, you charge $75 for that little piece of metal that renders the angle measurements useless and cant even include a $20 angle cube?

Note that you should never blindly trust that the angle on the arms is what it seems to be and should always use an angle measurement tool like the angle cube (or even just a protractor, just anything so long as you can confirm it). Reason being is... not all knives are the same. If you put a 1/8" thick stock multitool/pen knife blade into the WE and it has a 1/2" wide blade... It's not going to sharpen at the same angles as a meat clever that is 1/4" thick stock and has a blade width of 4". It's just common sense. Not only does width of the blade change how shallow you can get (sharpening a meat clever, for instance, is like having a low angle adapter installed... I don't recommend giving a meat clever 10 DPS/20 degree inclusive edges, however), but the stock thickness of the blade offsets the clamp of the WE. This only goes for older generations or if you're using the low angle adapter, but because it's a clamp system and in those two examples one side of the clamp is immobile... this means that one side is going to be potentially multiple degrees different from the other side. That's no longer an issue in the newer Gen3 clamps like the one you see here in the video, but the older Gen1/2 clamps do have one clamp side that is static and thus you need to plan for that difference. Also, even with the newer Gen3 clamps, the low angle adapter still has an immobile clamp side. So one side is still going to have slightly different angles than the other.

for the price they charge for these sharpeners its really disgusting that they cant include a $20 angle finder.

Boy do I like this sharpener, but come on guys $75 ??? Give your customers a break on things like this and offer them at a much more reasonable price, like 1/2 the over the top retail you currently require..
