Very nice! Break down after 20 years and finally pick up my guitar back up your breakdown was fantastic at 57 years old and 20 years of from not playing your lessons are making it easier for me to get my musclekeep up the great work will be checking out more of!

I'll tell you what, I am far from anything other than an intermediate player. One of the first things I did was to force myself to learn barre chords... the F to be exact. Best thing I ever did...opened up SO many songs. It's a pain in the ass in the beginning but so rewarding. as far as getting from teh E to the Bm easily, I shape the E differently. I don't use my index finger. I shape the E with my middle, ring and pinky. When I need to go down to the Bm the shape is already there, I just have to drop my index. +Subbed

I just started playing guitar and not going to lie the first cord in this song with the barre is a real pain in the ass to play and hav it sound good lol
@rodhurst54994 жыл бұрын
That's the way I do it as well, to have index free for the barre.

That was amazing! Really love the sound. Man you are gifted, as a teacher, a singer and as a guitarist. Thanks for sharing with us.

Have I told you you are the best? I love how you sing and the sound of your guitar. The format of your lessons is great, all that I need without unnecessary clutter. I can cross-reference some things on my own if I need it. Most importantly you have infectious personality. It is such a fun for me to follow your lesson bit by bit. Thank you.

Thanks for the lesson! I cheated and used the capo version but I love this song, wanted to be able to do it justice for such a long time. I based my own cover version off of this video! Legend. Forever grateful

As I'm a beginner guitarist and simply cant get the B minor barre chord to work consistently, I used the 4 finger version of the B minor chord which is basically the FMajor7/C shape played at the first string of the second fret.

I bought a guitar for my kids and promised they can each get a guitar of their own if they can play three songs. I decided I want to learn too. I've always loved this song (And I'm a metal fan) I stumbled on this post. Its good. I like it. I have a music background but not guitar. My fingers hurt so bad. But dang man, I almost got the easy version after about 30 minutes. (And you're a smooth teacher too)

I really like that you also sing to your tutorials because sometimes with other tutorial I kinda get confused with where to start mostly if it's a song that I don't know longer... that's really helpful!

Ah it's the F barre chord that's the killer when you first start learning how to play guitar. But don't give up......it comes in time and with practice.

Drue James - you are the best! You break things down and teach guitar in a simple to understand way. Thanks for taking the time to share this video. The BM chord is impossible for beginners, so the 3 chord version you share at the end is helpful. Great voice and smile. . . . please keep sharing tutorials. Any chance you can break down the guitar solo (especially the embellishments) in Landslide?
