Thanks, Eric! I also tried the log and despite having it in the basement, in a perforated plastic bucket, I got nothing. I have a corner of my yard where this can go. I think I'm going to wait until your mushroom harvest video and do this next year. I just cleaned out my fridge. It was quite a job.

Great video! I follow North Spore's channel as well. I'm planning to try the bucket method soon to grow some oyster mushrooms.

I was thinking for the bucket method you could use a propane turkey fryer to sterilize the substrate instead of the pH bath. And I used to have a 66 MG midget.

@@gardenfork yeah I was thinking the same thing about the turkey fryer. And that's awesome you had an MG Midget - my MGB is a 1975, but really a 1974.5 - first version of the rubber bumper but still has the twin SU carbs. They got rid of the twin carbs in January of 1975 due to emission issues.

If you use water from your tap, often there’s chlorine in it designed to kill organisms like mushroom spore. Best to use rainwater, untreated well water or filtered stream water. Did you use water from your tap? Best!!!
