Ive been visiting that area since i was 15 years old, and im now 89. Our original camp was located in what is now Quehanna Wilderness area. There were over 300 camps, homes and farms located within that region, all of them destroyed. Our current camp is located near Driftwood, on Mix Run rd. Ive been on many jeep safaris thruout that region. Its always best to have a second vehicle along with you on those types of trails in case of an incident. Especially with older individuals, its a long walk to get back out at times. I would say that this video wasent filmed within the Quehanna area.

There sure is a bunch of history up in that area. There are a few relics from the Curtis Wright era too. My father worked at Piper Aircraft up there until they moved operations to Florida. It still is a beautiful area!

Could you tell me where that walking bridge is? We have a camp in Bennezette PA and that looks like a neat place to take my son fishing and might be fun to walk over the bridge. Looks like the Sinamohonin river. Great 4 wheeling vid. Thanks for sharing 👍

I think if you drive towards Driftwood, there may be several cross-over bridges, real easy to find. Use caution though, as some of these may private.

@@mikelaughlin270 To me its pretty stupid....they had to use a chain saw, winch, etc.....why take a vehicle through there just because you're not willing to use the appropriate method....also its unclear what they were doing it for....hunting? looking for ginseng? photography? camping? fishing?.....also there's too much messing up wilderness areas that should be left pristine.
@mikelaughlin2702 ай бұрын
@@jamesbean7560 It's called overlanding and it's perfectly lawful to do in that area as it is sanctioned and managed by DCNR/Pa Game commission. Cutting a fallen tree does nothing to harm the wilderness. The fact that they cleared the path would make it more accessible to those who might want to hike, bike, or go in there on horseback. The fact that they cleared the fallen trees could potentially aid in a search and rescue operation at a later date and time should a hiker, biker, horseback rider, or hunter have some type of medical emergency or become lost. A cleared trail would allow first responders to reach a person in need substantially faster and perhaps save a life.
