Mip saved them cuz he needed a couple of suckers who'd feel indebted to him n make it easier to manipulate. Same as him hyping Charlie up to be so called hero when actually he n Pim were scapegoats. Hell, even his so-called healing potion got Charlie severely sick the next day at the end credits. The dude looked like he was about to drop dead if it weren't for Pim n Alan insisting to take him to the hospital. So yeah, none of his 'good ideas' didn’t have a catch at the end
