I was hospitalized 2 months after being prescribed Adderall, as I became aggressive, violent, anxious, and paranoid.

I have tried both for my severe adhd (with asthma) and methylphenidate caused more symptoms like an increase in migraines/headaches and an uptick in anxiety and irritability. Amphetamines don’t give me headaches and also helps lessen anxiety and depression.

Please be careful when giving stimulants to young children- my son with learning disability and ASD as well as ADHD developed aggressive, angry, and psychosis like behavior when received (for only a short while- about a week or two ) Ritalin LA when he was 7.It was devastating. The damage inflicted although improved with time is still there therefore likely permanent

I accidentally on purpose experimented with Ephedrine, which is an amphetamine like stimulant. The psychosis is very real.

My son was on Focalin when he was in grade school. It made him hate taking any type of medicine. He felt like a zombie and he just wasn’t the same. He’s 23 now and on Adderall and doing great. I don’t recommend Focalin to anyone.

What about Buspirone as a psych. med that is different from benzos? In combination with melatonin it exhibits AD effects and neurogenesis in hippocampus.

These drugs are largely dispensed indiscriminately by doctors, used in a way that absolves children of responsibility for their actions, and of parents for their responsibility to discipline. Boys I saw in Kenya guarding their herds dont need these stimulants. Children in Bangladesh in large classes were able to study and concentrate perfectly. These are mostly ' diseases' due to indulgent life styles.

The goal of psychiatrists is a medicated society. For profit and because they are evil. American might have one of the highest rates of psychosis per capita. Go through skid row of any major city on the west coast of america. The size of skid rows has exploded. I grew up in Seattle. There was homeless but now there are tent cities evrrywhere throughout the city. In parks. Under bridges. On street sidewalks. It is around 10x what it was in 1990
