Boy I tell ya, I kick myself in the a$$ because I didn’t go see them more often once I moved out of my family’s home and got to college in Summer of 2000. I was fortunate enough to see Mikey play 16 times starting this very Pelham run up until that last tour Mikey played. I would like to say this which is promising and super positive for those of us who have supported this band through it’s ups/downs, I think Widespread sounds exceptionally well right now in 2021! I’m hoping that scene of all of the hardcore fans returns/has returned like before Mikey’s passing because the shows this year have been 🔥 and we’re seeing a resurgence of the boys. As far as a unit/band/6dickeddinosaur/group of musicians, they’re playing extremely tight and sound like a well oiled machine that’s tuned in to one another so clearly and it shows on stage. IMO I think Panic is playing the best music overall of all the jam bands in 2021. Of course Phish has had some rad moments this tour for example the Pelham Carini along with many other highlights but they also have many songs/lows in the setlist where they lose the crowd it seems. Even hardcore Phish fans agree with some of the music not being up to par but I’m not a member of that scene really, just dig all good music. Billy and the Kids are definitely doing their own thing and those kids can really jam now. Obviously they’re all growing as musicians but this year it seems like they’ve definitely leveled up and have blown me away with some of their jams this year. As far as Dead and Co, they still have those magical moments at times but overall i would have to say this tour hasn’t been too impressive for me personally but I also haven’t attended one show nor have I listened to every single show so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I will be attending several(hopefully all) Widespread shows in the month of October. Feels like I’m missing a smokin shows every time they take the stage this year and starting in Memphis I can’t miss anymore.

The same rowdy crowd..........Oak shows were always fire! I'm channeling all energy to a return! Hell, while I'm dreaming, let's do Oak Friday, Alabama Theater Wood Saturday, and close it back at Oak Sunday! I'll crawl the 10 miles back home.......
